I never understood why I was even in this hell hole you call a school. High school was just another place where people decided to find themselves and become either this bad ass cheerleader, the corny ass jock, or the nerd who gives the kids who matter their homework. Or when you were in high school, you were me, you didn't do much, pretty much stayed to yourself, or maybe you had one or two good friends, and you envy everyone at school because they all wanted to be the same. Everyone had to fit in at East Coast High. I didn't necessarily find myself I just actually focused on actually getting out this God forsaken place. It was just a few days before graduation and I wasn't as near concern about prom and the after parties. I just wanted my diploma. By the way, my name is Lucy and obviously I'm a senior in high school.

"Lu, I was thinking we could go find prom dresses for Saturday night?" my best friend Milly was actually a person you think I would loathe in high school. Instead, she was just like me except she was more popular and she was out of this world gorgeous. She had this nice caramel skin and her eyes were golden brown. She wasn't really into her natural hair so she straightens it but her hair was down to her waist. Every guy wanted her even some of the girls but Milly had a smile that made everyone heart stop. Now you may have a lot of questions wandering in your head. But the hardest thing about being her friend was guys used me to get to her. It sucks being that friend but yeah, I'm actually friends with the popular girl at my school. She had her clique but we grew up together and she wasn't getting rid of her LuLu. That's one thing I loved about Milly, she never changed. She just had a strong ass glow up.

"Ew, why?" I responded. We were having lunch at one of our favorite spots before we had to go our English class.

"Because silly! It's prom and your evil ass is coming with me. None of your, you hate everything and everybody lecture bullshit. We all know you hate it here." She said as she took one of my fries.

"Why do I have to go to prom? It's only for people who likes....other people. I don't people." I ate my last chicken tender and begin to get up but she grabs my arm and sat me back down.

"Lucy! Come on, you been like my sister since the third grade, I need you there with me. " she pouted. I hated that. When she pout I usually give in and say yes.

"Please, Lucy....plea-" I interrupted her.

"Yes, fine! I'll go to this stupid prom with you....good god who is that?" I pointed to this guy that just enter the restaurant. He was gorgeous and I guess I look a little too long admiring how gorgeous he was because we had a brief moment of eye contact. He was at least six feet tall with gorgeous brown skin and an average size body. Plus his curly hair was gorgeous.

"Oh. Pshh. Him. I work with that guy. He is totally cute but he, not my type. He mostly into shit you like...you know your taste." she sips some of her drink and looks at me.

"And what does that mean?" I asked.

"Come on, Lucy, you're dorky but it's cute. To me at least. But he's into stuff like Stars Wars and other smart intelligent people shit. Oh, he also teaches kids and has his own place." she said.

"How do you in-" I begin to ask.

"Look, I was kind of into him too until he started talking about shit I didn't understand. I don't watch all those action movies and shit like that I am a girl." she flips her hair and batted her eyes at me then gave me her over the shoulder smile.

" Wait, so it makes me a guy because I dig video games and action movies?" I laughed.

"I mean...I wouldn't prefer it," she replied back to me. We talked for a little while longer and left the restaurant to head back to school.
