I jumped up from my sleep.

Heart pounding.

I quickly looked around the room. Trying to familiarize myself with my surroundings.

Nothing was out of place. My clothes were neatly laid out at the foot of my bed, my phone on my nightstand. I check the time.

9:07am

I exhaled falling back into my bed.

"It was all a dream." I thought to myself, gripping my heart. I flipped the covers off of my legs. Stepping out of bed and giving myself that morning stretch.

"Good Morning dumb dumb"

I spun around. Not again Was I still asleep?

"Chrissy" I yelled running toward my window where she stood staring out.

The one window in the room let a little light into the room, her face completely tangible, this wasn't a dream.
I grabbed her. Wrapping my arms tightly around her scared to let go.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

Ignoring anything she was saying I enjoyed the moment.

She peeled my arms from around her, slipping out like a banana.

"That's all the love one girl needs in the morning" she crossed over to the other side of the room.

"Put your clothes on or we'll be late." She forwarded toward the door.

"wait" I yelled.

"Don't leave. I mean I'm just getting dressed. It's not like you wanna see me anyway."
I bargained.

"Fine, hurry up. We don't have all day." Her face was straight and there may have been something wrong, but her being here right now blurred my vision.

I finished putting on clothes and we headed out the door.

I sniffed the air closing my room door.

"Are you okay?" she asked looking at me sniff around like a madman.

"Yeah," I replied laughing it off.

"Go ahead downstairs I'm right behind you" I demanded, gesturing her forward.

"Okay hurry I'll be outside"

I waited seconds after she headed down the stairs and slapped myself in the face.

I had to make sure this was all real.
It was.

That dream was so bizarre, but it was over. I ran down the steps yelling

"Bye mom" as I headed out the door.

I stared down the steps.

No Chrissy. I looked left and right, still no Chrissy.

"Where is this troublesome girl?" I thought
A hand touched my shoulder.

I jumped in a panic

"Ready?"

My first thought was to run down the stairs, but it was just her doing the most as usual. I nodded and we headed down the street . I stopped.

Mid stride.

My foot making it to the ground, but not budging to pull up.

"Don't I have a car" I asked myself.

"where am I going" continuing to ask these internal questions.
Chrissy kept walking not noticing my absence by her side.

Then it happened.

She walked right into the street.

I couldn't stop it.

I couldn't move.

I couldn't move.

JUST MOVE.
