Loud sounds can be heard coming from the kitchen. Plates breaking and sobbing.

"Mommy?" said a little girl walking towards the kitchen. Rubbing her eyes she passed by the living room she glanced at the digital clock. "1 o'clock? Why is mommy up this late?" A female is heard from the kitchen which shocked the little girl. She ran to the kitchen to find her mother on the floor, holding her face crying.

"Mommy?"

Her mother looked up at her. The little girl was in shocked. Her mother's right eye was bleeding and her make-up running down her face. Her strawberry blonde hair looked messy, with a few pieces of hair pulled out. "Rain, honey go back to bed," her mother said. "Daddy and I are just talking"

Her father leaned against the counter and gulped down the beer he had in his hand. He looked at Rain and they made eye contact. After a few seconds, Rain broke the eye contact and rushed over to her mother's side. "I'm fine honey, go back to bed"

Her father left the room and went into the living room.

"No, let me help you, mommy," Rain said.

"Rain!!" her father shouted, "get in here!!"

Rain left her mother's side and went to her upset father. "Yes, daddy?"

"Look at this mess, Rain!" he yelled pointing to Rain's scatter toys on the floor. "I nearly broke my damn neck!!" Rain looked down at the floor. Covered in toys. She swore the floor was clean when she passed by earlier.

"Daddy... I didn't do that" she said, "Right after lunch, I cleaned up after myself."

Her father slapped her across her face. She fell to the floor, tears rolling down her cheek.

"How dare you fucking lie to me?!" he shouted, "Do you think something walked in here and did this?"

"Yes...?" she answered

Her father raised his hand to hit Rain. "Daddy, no! Please!" she cried

"Wake up..."

"NO!" Rain yelled

"RAIN WAKE UP!"

------The Millers Home 1:00 pm: Rain's POV---------

I woke up to a pair of green eyes staring at me. I couldn't see him well. My version was blinded by tears . He brushed my hair out of my face and tucked it behind my ear. "Are you okay?" he asked. I blinked several times to regain my version and pushed the tears aside. I nodded.

"Yeah, Honey I'm okay. Just... A nightmare." I said

I sat up and wiped my eyes. He sat up too. "Is it your father again?"

"Ben...Please I rather not talk about him"

"Rain, every night for 2 weeks straight you been having these nightmares." Ben said "You need to face your father"

"How the hell could I? I don't know where that asshole is and I don't care to know" I got out of bed and walked over to the bathroom.

"Then...why not seek help?"

"Cause if I do I'll have to tell mother and she already thinks I'm crazy." I opened the mirror and pulled out a flask. I quickly drank it down and closed it. "Besides... I have all the help I need."

"Rain let's go back to sleep okay?" Ben patted the empty spot next to him. " I miss your warmth," Ben smiled.

"Sorry, Hun but I think I'm going to watch TV and try to forget about the nightmare" I left the room leaving Ben all by himself. He sighed and laid back down in bed.

I went downstairs and walked into the kitchen. I opened a bottle of whiskey and a tube of Icecream. I poured the whiskey into the tube of ice-cream. I smiled. "Nothing better than alcohol and ice-cream, at 1 in the morning," I said to myself. I sat on the couch and turned on the TV.

I flipped through a few channels. "Nothing good is on" I mumbled. I flip through the channel one more time. I randomly choose a channel and just stayed on it. I scooped up some ice cream and whiskey and shoved it in my mouth. The TV show wasn't interesting. I glanced down and looked at a picture of me an hour after I was born, I was smiling so brightly. Mother said when I was born, I was the happiest baby she ever saw. After I turned 2, everything went to hell. "Where did that child go...?" I mumbled to myself. A tear rolled down my cheek.  I wiped my tears and pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter I hid between the couch. I lit up one cigarette and breathe it in, then let it out. After a few drink and few cigarettes, I passed out.

The next morning

"Rain, wake up"

I felt a hand touch me and starting shaking me. I ignored the hand and pushed it away. The hand came back and slapped me in the face. I woke up instantly.

"W..What the hell," I said

The person who slapped me was my husband Ben. "It's stinks of alcohol and cigars in here," Ben said covering his nose. "What were you doing down here last night?"

Ben looked at me with a stern look. I looked around at room. Empty liquor bottles, cigarettes stains on the carpet and ashes left everywhere. "Party of one?"

Ben let out a long sigh "I thought you gave up drinking and smoking"

"I thought you gave up on trying to grow a man bun" I sat up and reached for a liquor bottle. I stook it and drank down the remaining alcohol left. "But, I guess we both couldn't help ourselves"

Ben walked away shaking his head. I continued to drink the alcohol till every last drop was in my mouth.

I glanced at the TV, one of my sons sat directly in front of it. He felt me staring and slowly turned to me. "Mama?" he said "Are you okay?"

"Aiden...?" I got off the couch and walked towards him, "Aiden...I'm so sorry.." I got down on my knees and touched his cheeks.

His green eyes pierced me. It felt like he was staring into my soul...judging me. "It's okay Mama, I understand that you couldn't control your drinking" he said smiling as he turned around to face me. I felt tears swelling up.  "No Aiden... I can control it..."

Aiden stood up and glared down at me. "If you could control it, then why am I dead!" he shouted "Its lonely here!" The tears rolled down my cheeks, my heart hurts. "You're a bad Mama!"

I held my breath, I can feel my whole body trembling. I have nothing to say...he's right..

"Rain, have you seen my pho-" Ben walked into the room to see me on my knees. "Rain, what happened?" I wiped my tears and stood up. "Nothing Ben." I pushed past Ben and grabbed my car keys. Ben stared at me with a clueless expression.

"Hun, where are you going? You have to watch Alex" Ben fixed the tie on his suit. "I have a busy day, today."
I reached for my jacket and opened the door. It's raining, really hard. "Rain." he said to me

I turned my head and glared at him, "I didn't ask for kids, It was your stupid to have those two mistakes in the first place! And because of you I'm stuck here with a dead child on my conscience!" Ben's face fell. "I can't even look at Alex without thinking of him!"
"Rain you don't really mean that..." Ben said quietly.
"Mommy..?" said a tiny voice. To my surprise, Alex was behind me with a sad look. "Is it true..? Am I a mistake..?" Ben looked down at Alex, he picked him up and rubbed his head. "Shhh" he said to alex "Your mommy isn't having a good day"

I can feel tears coming again. I don't hate Alex...he's my child. I looked down and bit my lip.
"Daddy...when is Aiden coming back? You said he was with grandma..." Alex said with a sad look "But I haven't seen grandma since that day we wore black.."

I ran out the house into the rain. I need a drink and a smoke.
