Loki sneaks about his bedroom- the doors closed, his bare feet padding the floor softly.

He waits for her.

Stepping to the desk, he flips through books- through stacked sheets of paper covered in dust. He hadn't looked through his room since he'd returned.

A small envelope lays in the middle, on top of a green book that he received as a child. He takes it in his large hands, less dust resting on its face, and blows away the foreign particles.

He knows the hand-writing anywhere.

It takes him a moment to recover, his breathing rapid as he pulls the single sheet of paper from the sleeve. The letter addresses him, tear stains mark the page. Drops of shed grief and pain that made his fingers burn as they traced their wavering patterns. The page was thinner there. More vulnerable.

He takes a large breath, eyes already beginning to brim with memories of lost times.

She wrote him a letter. Because she thought he had died.

Of the first time Odin brought him home- how small he'd been in her arms. How Thor took to him instantly, insisting that his baby brother would be his best friend the rest of their days. She told brief tales of her visions she'd seen for his life- now, she guessed, that would never come to light.

He wouldn't have a family like she'd always pictured. He wouldn't grow old, and take the throne once Thor had had enough of it. He wouldn't be there to see her every morning at breakfast, his smiling face brightening her day by his sheer presence.

And he could feel her heart breaking as her shaking hand scribbled word upon word over the page.

When Sigyn finds him, moments later- sneaking in because no one knows they are together- he is kneeling on the floor, head down, harsh sobs escaping his quivering lips.

I thought I'd begin short one-shots of Loki and Sigyn's life together. Mainly Loki, more than likely- and probably a lot like this. They might stay on que with the movies, but I'll add in my own touches once in a while, like Sigyn.

Tell me what you thought. :)
