I walked down the hallway in my uniform. Everybody was laughing, I ignore them.

"Hey Zoey, did your grandma let you borrow those glasses?!" Someone yells and the entire hallway starts looking to me, "oh no? You bought them yourself? My bad!" I cover my face and start walked through the crowd that's being filled with laughter.

I reach my destination, the art room. I knock in the wide open door and the boy inside turns around.

"Am I interrupting?" I ask him, "you usually never look this into anything."

"Hello to you too. What's up Zoe," he says. "Oh nothing, hey um Zach you know your my favorite person right?" I say.

"What did you do this time?" He asks looking down, shaking his head.

"Nothing, Nothing, I just....."I mumble the last part of my sentence.

"You what?" He asks looking at me. "I need to......." I still mumble.

"Zoey Jenna McKessie tell me why now!" Zach says acting like my dad.

"I need to tell my dad I can't go fishing!" I yell and sigh.

My dad was a fisherman and my mom was the coach of the cheer leading team. They always tried to drag me into 'fun' activities. My mom would take me to the practices and my dad would take me fishing. I always chose my dad because if I went with my mom, all the girls would laugh at me.

"Why can't you go this time?" He asks me.

"Chess Club, they called an important emergency meeting and I can't tell my dad that he won't understand and-" I start talking so fast I can't understand myself.

"Okay, I'll talk to him, but you owe me one," he says holding out his hand.

He always does stuff for me and I do stuff for him so we created a currency for it. They were called 'u o me' whenever the other person said no to something you would give them one and they would have to do it. I sighed and grabbed a piece of paper out of my pocket and slapped it into his hand.

"Hey Zach we have to go to practice," Chris, One of the basketball players, said. He turned his attention to me. "Oh hey Zoey, nice to see you washed your clothes this time." Everyone laughs. Zach says goodbye and leaves with the rest of them while I make my way to the chess club room.

**After School**

"Hey Mom, Dad, sorry for being so late, emergency at school," I yell hoping they'll hear me.

I look around and see boxes everywhere and nothing left on the walls. I open one of the boxes and take out a picture of me, my brother, my mom, and my dad. I see a person walking down the stairs, I can't tell who it is because they have a box covering their whole body. They set it down and I realize it's my brother, Caleb.

"Oh hey little Sis, mom wants you to pack up, she put your bag in your room," he says

"Where are we going?" I ask. He turns to face me. "Paris," he breaths out.

"Oh--wait PARIS?!?!" I practically yell. "Yeah didn't they tell you dad got a new job in Paris," he says walking back up the stairs.

I sigh and make my way to my room. I see my bright pink luggage on the bed over my plain bed that used to have lavender sheets and cotton candy colored comforter. I start packing all my clothes and shoes into my bag after changing into some comfortable clothes. I finish and zip up my luggage and wheel it downstairs. My mom sees me.

"Hey sweetheart I know this is all so sudden but we have to leave at eight so you have until then to say bye to all your friends," she says.

I forgot all about Zach and Anna. I tell my mom where I'm going and start biking to Zach's house. He opens the door, I look at my watch and see its seven. I tell him that we have to get Anna first. Once we get her it's 7:30, so we go to my house. They see everyone packing things into our car and a moving van.

"We're moving to Paris," I say. They look stunned. Anna starts to cry and hugs me so does Zach.

We all hug for a while and cry onto each others' shoulders. Then I say goodbye and get in the car. Zach and Anna stay in the driveway and wave us off. As we back out of the driveway, I look out of the window to them. Zach is still waving and Anna crying into his shoulder. I put my hand against the glass as they fade out of sight. Now they're gone forever.
