Zailey Harris

I found my first period and walked into the class that was halfway full. Everybody stared at me causing me to roll my eyes.

I took a seat in the front row because I didn't come to play. I refused to sit in the back and get distracted.

More students filed into the class until it was full. The late bell rang and the teacher came strolling in, wearing a red suit and tan heels.

"Hi, class." She smiled and waved. She sat her bag down at her desk and stood at the front of the class slowly observing everyone.

"You look new, are you?" She asked me.

Was it that obvious!? Is that why people continously stare at me?

I nodded my head.

"I've been teaching AP English with these same kids when they were in 9th grade till now and I've never seen your face. Nice to meet you though." She smiled at me.

"Hey." I smiled and waved at her.

"Your eyes are pretty." She complimented.

"Thank you."

"Can I sit here?" She motioned to the stool next to mine.

"Of course."

"You're new, aren't you?"

"Yes. Do I have the words "I'm a new student" plastered on my forehead?" I joked. "Everybody seems to notice it."

"Kind of a small town; Everybody knows everybody." She laughed along.

"Got it."

"I'm Keyonna by the way."

"I'm Nicole." I lied.

Our art teacher went over what we'd be doing in his class and then we had free time to talk.

"Do you have two brothers?" Keyonna asked me.

"No." I frowned. "Just one. Why?"

"Because the word around the school is that there are three new students. A girl and two boys and they're all attractive." Keyonna spoke.
