Once upon a time, there was a little fish. His scales were coloured in all shades of the rainbow and everyone just called him Rainbowfish. He was different because everyone else was just gray and black, but his difference made him lonely. The others always made fun of him for being different and everything the Rainbowfish ever wishes for is being like everyone else. He wants to look like them and he wants to have friends like them. His world was so colorful, but without anyone to share the colors, he couldn't see their beauty.
Whenever the Rainbowfish looks at the other fish he whispers "I only wish that I could be like them. I wish I could just be normal." There was nothing he wanted more than to get rid of the colors which made him different. He even tried to cut his scales out of his skin, but nothing ever worked. One day he woke up earlier than anyone else and just started swimming. He swam as far as he never did before and after more hours than he could have counted, the sea became grayer and grayer. He didn't even noticed it. Not until he finally reached the gray sea.
When he looked around him, everything was coloured in different shades of gray. But this gray wasn't as beautiful as he had imagined it. It scared him. He felt like something inside of him would be getting numb. As fast as he could he started swimming back, but it didn't helped. His scales were already losing their colour. He wanted back home. Wanted his colors back. But the waves whispered:"Silly little fish. Wished so hard for his colors to fade and for himself to be normal. Just go on swimming, silly fish. Swim as fast as you can. You will never get your colors back. The gray sea keeps what it gets. You lost what made you unique and beautiful. Hush, hush, keep swimming, silly fish, the moon will rise soon. The darkness will eat your soul like the gray sea ate your colors."
When the sun rose again, her light got reflected in the fish's scales. But he wasnt able to see her light ever again.

~You are beautiful the way you are. Don't change because others can't see your beauty. Because if you do, you will never be able to express what is inside of you. Stay yourself and be unique.
