A Cruel World and A Sweet Girl

Chapter 2: Adoption

Sky's POV:

Quickly after the fire we were rushed to the hospital to make sure we had no injuries. I had a pretty bad burn. But I would survive.

After that we were put into an adoption center. that's when I realized I'll be here for about a year, no one want to adopt a 17 year old who will be and adult in less than a year. But Lindsey might get adopted I mean she's only 13, I believe she'll get adopted. All I want right now is for her to get adopted by a loving family who will treat her like mom did. Just please.

We were in the center for about a week until a woman, man, and two kids walked in and ended up adopting Lindsey. I was pretty pleased with who adopted her. I was especially glad to get her out of this 'home'. But for me i'll be here for a while.

A little while later a woman about in her 30's came in. I was adopted by her about a week later.

The car ride to her home and eventually mine was about 10 minutes. It was very quiet until she said "Hello I'm, Jayden."

"Sky."

I said quietly. not really wanting to talk but she continues on.

"You wanna tell me about your previous life?"

I really didn't want to tell her but I did.

"Well my dad was a fireman, he died in a fire with my brother. My mom remarried eventually but he abused me without her knowing, a couple weeks ago they both died in a

fire and my sister was adopted about a week ago and she's 13."

"I'm sorry you had to go through that."

I slightly nodded my head and sighed. when we got back it was around 2.

So she introduced me to my new dad John and new brother Luke. He looked so much like my older brother Cory who passed in the fire. It brought tears to my eyes. Everyone gave a worried look and I explained how Luke looked like my brother and how my brother died in the fire and so on.

"Hey Sky, have u eaten yet?" she questioned.

"I ate cereal around 9, I don't eat lunch there it's gross."

she just laughed a little.
