*Jasmines POV*
I'm sitting at two person table in Chili's. Waiting for my best friend, Nate. I heard the door open to a tall, chocolate haired, carmel eyed, 18 year old. That's him. I thought.
Nate and I have been friends since middle school, I need help in 6th grade math so I was being tutored. I was waiting in the library when my teacher never came. I was about to leave when I saw a boy sitting next to me. It wasn't a random boy, it was a 8th grader. And that's not a good thing.
"Hi, you look like you need some help." He had the nicest eyes.
"Um, ya. Can u help me?" I know this sounds weird but don't judge. I was in 6th grade.
"Sure!" He said sitting down.He sat next to me and it was awkward at first but once he started helping me, it was pretty chill after that. And we've been friends ever since.
"Hey! Sorry it took so long." He said with a smile on his face.
"Oh it's fine, lets just eat!" I looked at the menu. All these different foods it was hard to choose. But I decided to get a bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and ketchup.I look at Nate. He has such sweet eyes. He was such a good friend I thought. He was, well perfect.
"Hey, Jasmine how's the family?" Nate said starting conversation.
"Oh their good. Thanks for asking."
The waiter came with our food. They were so nice here. Too bad you don't find "nice people" these days.
"So how's your burger?" I asked. Though we both know there delicious. I mean you can't go wrong with Chili's.
"It's great! I'm glad you asked me to come here tonight!" He says.Sometimes I feel like Nate tries to hard. Like he try's to make me like him. But it's probably just me. Everyone says I take stuff to literal anyway. I looked at him. His face was covered with ketchup from his burger. I smiled, and ate my burger.
"Well I'll see you later then!" He says holding the door.
"Thanks. Ya, I'll see you later. Bye." I start to walk away, I turn around and Nate's already gone. I wish I knew what he does every day. It makes me think about how in "Pretty Little Liars" they always say how everyone isn't what they seem. Like is Nate who I really think he is? He's been my friend for like ever. Though sometimes he does have his "mysterious" moments. When I get home my mom was reading a magazine. She works so hard, these days. Her and dad.
"Hi sister!" My little brother Jason says. I smile at him.
"How was dinner with Nate?" My mom asked.
"It was delicious as always, um mom I'm gonna go to bed. I'm tired." I really was tired. But half of me just wanted to go to my room for privacy. My mom gave me the node, and went back to reading her magazine.I went upstairs to my room. It was a teal color with junk everywhere. Don't judge. I looked at my phone and saw a text from Nate.
"Thanks for taking me out tonight it was so good. Sweet dreams!" He's so sweet. If you're upset about anything go to Nate. He always has the best advice, and just makes you happy in general.I looked at the ceiling. I have such a wonderful life, I need to be more grateful these days. I have a family, my whole family; I have a roof over my head, I have so many things to be greateful for and I'm not. I sighed. I put my phone on my dresser, got into the covers and went to sleep.
