Prologue

It was a breezy summer night. The people had finally gathered to destroy their tormentor. It was neither human nor animal. It was the imprint of a curse. A very dangerous curse. Five years ago, the book appeared on the forest. It was discovered by two forest rangers. The people say that the two rangers read their book immediately at their house.

No one answered for a few days. The villagers decided kick down the door. They did so and found no one in the house. A small boy found the book and decided to take it home. Others decided to keep on searching the house. There was no one so the villagers left. The forest rangers were gone. So was the boy. That is why they decided to destroy it.

They chose to destroy the curse in a cave. The villagers entered the cave. Outside, they set a fire. The tall man found the book. He took it and threw it in the fire. The villagers walked home, being really relieved that the book was gone.  But that was not the last of the book. The tall man had died the next day. The villagers also found the book in the cave again.

This time a fat, short villager ripped it and threw it down the river. The man died the next day. The villagers didn’t know what to do. They did lots of ways to destroy the book but nothing worked. The villager that destroyed the book would die the next day and the book would come back from where it was destroyed. The book was a threat to the village.

People prayed and some moved out of the village. Most people had lost a family member. People decided to keep it hidden. They built a giant wall around the book and every one ran away. A few years after, other people discovered the place. People broke down the wall and found a book. They thought that there might have been civilization there before. Lots of people read the book. The people were once again, disappearing.

Most things that happened to the people before happened to these people too. People were disappearing. Some people died trying to destroy it. No one could destroy it. The people decided to leave everything were it was and go away. Soon, there was none in the village. People thought the village never existed and no one remembered the book. A three hundred years passed by with no word of the book. Then one day, it appeared in a library…
