-Mary P.O.V.-
Its been a few days since I've been here and the doctor has been in and out, checking in on me and asking the same question over and over:
"Do you remember what happened that night?"
I sighed, looking out my window as the rain drizzled down it. I missed my family, my moms cooking that smelt good, my dad who loved sports so much you'd think he would be married to it and my brother who always joked around with me and everyone else.
I smiled, wiping away a tear from my eyes.
Since I got here I learned something; every time I lost consciousness, another took over.
The doctor came in with a video camera, taking a video of me while I talked. When I feel backwards, I lost consciousness and everything went black. Someone by the name of Kyle came out talking about how crowded it was inside of me.
That scared me. There was more then one inside me if it was crowded.
I put a hand on the window, feeling the cold as I heard the door opening. I turned, hoping to see my family, but was disappointed to see a nurse.
"Good morning, Mary. How are you?" She asked sweetly, making my bed and walking towards me.
I shrugged, "I'm ok. When is my family coming?" I asked, moving away from the window and following her as she led me out of my room down a hallway to where everyone else was.
I heard her sigh, "No dear. Not today, I believe the doctor said sometime next week they'll come visit you."
I nodded, not letting the same news I've been getting for the last month get to me. The nurse always said they would be here to visit me next week, but they never showed.
I fiddled with my fingers as she left me in a room with other kids like me.
I looked up from where I was standing and saw a boy by the window, looking out at the rain. Something in my head was telling me to go towards the boy, so I did.
As I got closer, I realized he had tears in his eyes with black smudges on his hands and wrists.
"Hi,' I muttered softly, stopping in front of him and leaning back on my heels.
He looked up at me with a frightened look, "its coming. Its so dark, so cold, how do people do it? I felt it, I'm not crazy!" He yelled, covering his face with his hands.
"What?" I asked, confused on what he was talking about.
He moved his hands from his face,"it already got me. The darkness, it'll come for you. Its not a threat, its a promise," he whispered, pulling his sleeves up to show the dark scratches that covered his arms.
He started to tremble lightly, "No one is crazy. They don't believe us. They can't see the darkness. We are special. This is all a trap," he cried, repeating it over and over again.
A nurse rushed over to him and forcibly dragged him out of the area back to his room. I shivered at what he said and the weird marks on his body.
Could something really be invisible to the doctors eyes, that only patients can see?
Did the nurse not see the black scratches all over the boys body?
I stared at his retreating form with a confused look, was he actually crazy, or speaking the truth?
Since when is there a dark presence in a mental hospital?
As I thought about it, I felt a cold sensation take over my body, making everything go numb again. I realized this was when one of the other things inside me took over and this time I willingly let it take over me.
I closed my eyes, sitting down in the chair and letting my consciousness slip away.

I smiled as I gained control of Marys body. It felt nice to be able to move every part of my body.
I looked around the room, looking at everyone and seeing if I could find the darkness so many of these people were talking about.
"Its cold. So dark and ice cold like winter. Stuck in a place that even the devil would cower. "
As the saying floated through my mind, my eyes landed on a girl on the other side of the room.
The girl looked a bit older than Mary, probably 13. She had rosy cheeks with bright green eyes that were strangely happy considering she was in a mental hospital with people who were known as the mentally insane.
It wasn't the girl that caught my attention, but the dark black fog type thing going towards her.
The black shadow was swarming around her that had dark claws reaching out around her. The girl didn't even notice the darkness till it covered her completely.
I gasped as the shadow squirmed around the girl before spiralling up into the ceiling. The girls face was much paler than earlier and she had the same black marks on her arms and hands like the other guy.
Her happy aura seem to disappear and a more depressing aura appeared.
"That's weird," I muttered, walking towards her in hopes of learning about the darkness that had surrounded her.
"Hi," I say softly, looking at the girl who looked worried.
She stared at me, shaking her head, "don't let it get you! That, that darkness, its so cold and dark. The shadow, its getting stronger. Beware of it, don't let it touch you! Don't let it take a piece of you!" She whispered yelled at me, grabbing my hand in her freezing cold one, "feel this coldness. Its from that shadow!"
I nodded, pulling my hand away from her and warming it up with my breath, "I noticed. I saw the shadow swirl around you. It was like a figure was in the shadow reaching out, clawing at you. Do you know what it is?"
The girl looked at me with a scared look,"you saw that shadow? How, no one can! It told me so!"
I opened my mouth to ask her another question, but she turned away from me, covering her ears and running towards the door in a panic state.
She can hear it talk to her. It was like me and the others to Mary. We talked to her and convinced her of things that she would never think of.
I shook my head, leaning against the wall and thinking about the shadow and what the girl said.
