It was quiet, So quiet it was menacing. The only sound heard was the beating rhythm of the rain as I stood on my porch watching it.
I've always thought the rain looked its best when the moon shined in through the clouds and gave off a reflection, now that was truly beautiful.
But the silence came to an end, as car horns and feet pounding on the pavement came into ear shot. I looked up to see a man running hurriedly across the street, I shrugged it off as nothing until he fell to his knees holding his head in shame. Curious to know what was wrong I ran out into the rain and kneeled next to the man, I put my hand on his back and spoke softly, "Are you okay?" he looked up slowly, those petrifying eyes weld up in tears, but after a second, I realize who he was, "Avi?" he tried holding back the tears and stood slowly, me helping him, he was confused, "You know me?" I look down at my PTX T-shirt, he nodded, "Wanna come inside?" He thought about it for a second, I smile, "I have Coffee...." he slightly smiled and agreed.
When we made it inside I walked to the bathroom and grabbed two towls, draping one over my shoulder, I tossed him the other. I wondered into the kitchen and grabbing two cups, pouring the still hot coffee, I glanced at Avi, "Black, or Sugared?" He answered, "Sugared," I smile, "Milk or creamer?" I put two sugars while he answered, "Milk," I nodded as I pour a bit of milk into his cup, stirred it and handed it to him, he took it slowly and starred at it for a second before taking a sip. I fixed mine up and sat in the chair next to his and began drying my hair, "So..." he sipped again, I turn toward him, "Spill," his hands slightly tighten on the cup, his eyes lay still on the slightly moving reflection in the cup, then he spoke quietly, but loud enough for me to hear, "Me and Scott...got into a fight and..." I sat silently waiting for him to continue, he did, "And it didn't end well...I..almost knocked him out...I had stepped away when they pulled us apart, and....I ran, they were yelling for me to come back but i just couldn't face them..."
I bit my lip while I thought for a second, he sipped his coffee quietly, "Well," I said sipping mine, "Where are you staying?" he pushed his lips together, "At the moment....nowhere." I sighed silently to myself, "Well, you can stay here if you want," he looked up at me, "Really? But you barely know me.." I shrugged as I took his empty cup and walked to the sink and rinsed it out, "Actually i know you pretty well, just because we've never met in person doesn't mean we wouldn't know each other, like for instance, you love beanies, you love coffee, and on occasion alcohol, your favorite color is green, etc..." he smiled, "I don't know if i should be scared or not" I laugh, "See that's the point of being famous, things about you go around here and there, but us being 'fans', if we truly care, we pay attention to stuff like that" the smile stayed planted on his face, "Well, I'll take you up on that offer, and truly Thank You, lord knows where i would be now if i hadn't met you." I smiled and put my cup in the sink and walked him to the guest bedroom.
He looked around the bedroom and nodded, "It doesn't look like its been used much" I shrug, "I don't use it, the only people who have used it are my family members, and they haven't visited me in probably two years or so," he nodded, not commenting on what I said.
I gave him some covers and a pillow and told him the bathroom is down the hall, I also gave him a box of my brothers old cloths, he said thank you, I smiled and head to my room, closing the door behind me. I sigh as I sit at my piano and begin playing a song I've been practicing for awhile, Jar of hearts by Christina Perri, I started singing quietly to myself but louder as I really get into the song. After I was done practicing, I heard clapping from behind me, I turned to see a smiling Avi standing in the door way, "Wow.."
