Sorry that this isn't an update, but I kinda wanted to quickly explain how shapeshifters in this book work because I think it would be cool to give you guys some background of how I think they should work.
So basically, Shapeshifters start out as souls. Their souls have a specific vessel (My supernatural fandom where ya'll at?) that they are destined to have. Once they find their vessel, the vessel must give them permission to take over their body. If they are given permission, then the soul will take over the body, and that's how the shapeshifter is given their original form. They are then able to turn into any creature, human, anything that they lay their eyes on. If someone was to try and kill the shapeshifter, they would need to either shoot them in the heart with a silver bullet, or stab them with a silver knife.
The shapeshifter that is acting as Ariana, is not actually her obviously. But they have obviously seen her before. So they have either captured her or killed her and are just using her looks to manipulate Justin, Rose. and Jason. Im not gonna spoil anything, mainly because I have everything planned out perfectly and may have the next 5 chapters written already...but yeah.
Thats mainly all there is to know about shapeshifters and stuff :P
