Abbys POV (didnt expect that did you;) )
The day started hectically, Patty was on food duty making sure we had enough food to last us for the 14 hour drive meanwhile Jillian was getting all our equipment ready and in the back of the car.
Me and Erin were working out tactics for how we were gonna bust some ghosts in a high school, she was acting a little weird, on edge almost but it was probably just me looking into things to closely so i didn't bother to ask her about it.
Half an hour later it was 4:00pm and we were ready to go with an aim to get to denver at 6:00am, yikes.
'Lets gooo bitches!' Patty yelped whilst running down the stairs, me Erin and Jillian followed behind.
Erin's POV
When we got in the car, Abby shotgunned driving first and Patty shotgunned the passenger seat, which left me and Holtzmann alone together in the back. There are no actual seats in the back, just the floor and some seatbelts that Holtzmann made herself and from the back it was hard to interact with Abby or Patty, which made the situation a lot more awkward.
'Does anyone want any snacks' Holtzmann shouted in attempt to break the silence.
'No were good thanks' Abby responded.
'Ill have a brownie' i replied, trying to start some conversation.
'Here you go' Holtzmann passed me a brownie and our hands met as i reached for it, we stayed there for a moment looking into each others eyes, i felt the same electricity i always do when her bright blue eyes meet mine.
We quickly snapped out of it when Abby changed her mind 'on second thought, i'll have a brownie' she laughed and we laughed back, throwing the pack to the front.
I saw Holtzmann reach for her phone and begin to type, a few minutes later she showed me her iphone screen that was open on notes, the writing saying:
We need to have some normal conversation. You could cut the sexual tension in here with a knife.
I tried hard to hold in my laughter. 'nice one' i said and she smiled.
'So, what did you and Abby come up with anyway' she responded, a good save.
'well its hard when we have no idea what the school looks like or where the ghosts are, but we thought that we could use your new machine to call it over and then work from there' i said before taking the last bite of my brownie.
'Sounds good, you're so smart' Holtzmann responded. I smiled, trying my hardest not to blush.
Two hours later
Jillians POV
The longer the car journey went on, the less awkward it became between me and Gilbert. We kept sharing glances and we both knew what they meant, but we disguised them well.
'12 hours to go' Abby shouted before turning into our first stop for gas and drinks.
Abby and Patty ran out to get both things while me and Gilbert just stretched our legs and climbed back inside, the next stop was when we switched and it was my time to drive so i made the most of relaxing in the back.
'This is weird isnt it' Gilbert stated, smiling a little.
'very' i laughed and i grabbed her hand.
Erins POV
'when we get to denver, i wanna take you out, just me and you, i know it probably wont happen because it will be hard to make that seem harmless without the girls catching on, but i just want you to know that id love to do that' Holtzmann said smiling at me.
I leaned in for a hug. 'i'd love that, our first date' i whispered and smiled behind her head, where she couldn't see.
