*Dawn's POV*

"Emory? Emory? Are you okay?" I was worried when he fell silent and his eyes became distant.

"What? Sorry, yeah. Umm.. He... he threatened... t-to k-kill me." His voice got quieter and quieter as the sentence went on.

I sat up and leaned over him, my arms on both sides of him. I'm so sorry." I told him.

"It's not your fault." He answered with a hint of a smile.

In that moment I smiled before carefully placing a gentle kiss on his forehead. It wasn't quite enough so I kissed his cheek. I still needed a little more so I kissed his other cheek. And with that I needed to kiss him. I would never be like this with anyone, but it just seemed so right.

I carefully kissed his lips. He reached up and pulled my face closer to his, making the kiss more passionate.

After a moment, I pulled away. I don't really know why, I just did.

He looked up at me, his eyes wide for a minute.

"Sorry." I blushed, leaning back so I was sitting next to him again.

"For what?" He asked.

I blushed and looked down. I could feel his eyes on me.

I decided to lay back down next to him again. I pulled the blankets back and covered myself up and made sure he was completely covered.

"Are you warm enough?" I asked.

"I'm alright. Are you?" He asked.

"I'm good." I said, draping one of my blankets over him.

"What was that for?" He asked.

"You said you were alright. That's not good enough." I laughed.

"That doesn't mean you have to give up one of your blankets." He pointed out.

"I'm good, though." I told him.

"Yeah, whatever. Can you help me with something?" He asked.

"Yeah. What is it?"

"Can you help me get out of my jacket and my shirt? I don't mean to be weird, my shirt is just very itchy and this jacket is uncomfortable." He said.

"Sure." I sat back up and helped him up. I carefully pulled his jacket off, sleeve by sleeve. Then I pulled the bottom of his shirt up over his head. I gawked at his perfectly sculpted body for a moment before I pulled the shirt completely off. I folded it up and set it on the front seat with his jacket.

"Thanks." He said.

"Anytime." I answered. "That didn't sound right." I laughed at my stupidity.

"It didn't." He laughed. He had a cute laugh. It was playful and sexy.

I felt my face redden, but thankfully it was too dark to see.

I helped him lay back down and soon I was back under the covers too.

"Come here." He said, moving his arm so I could lay next to him.

I turned on my side to face him and slid closer. I rested my head on his shoulder and carefully placed my hand on his chest.

"Better?" He asked, his arm moving back to hold me closer.

"Much better." I leaned up and kissed his cheek. "Goodnight, Emory."

"Goodnight, Dawn." He said, placing a gentle kiss on my head.

With that we fell asleep.
