Beep, beep, beep!

I groggily got out of bed. I rubbed my eyes while I looked at the time. My eyes nearly bulged.

7:30.

"Marrisa, hurry and come get your tea before it gets cold! You're already late for school!"

What? When did she make tea?

"I'm coming mom!" I quickly ran to my bathroom and took a quick bath, got dressed, grabbed my bag off the chair and ran down the stairs. Giving my mom a kiss, I took up the cup of tea and quickly drank it down. "I'm headed out now mom, see you later!"

Not waiting for a reply, I grabbed my car keys from the key rack and headed outside to my sleek black BMW.
"Love you Rii!" My mom shouted from the front door as I started the engine and drove out the driveway.
The drive to school took about 20 minutes. I parked in an available spot on the campus and ran to the front doors of the school. I was so late! I hope not to get a detention, especially because it was the middle of the semester and my slate was clean. I'm always on time, except for today of course.

I hurried down the hall towards homeroom. I tried to make my way stealthily into the class, but my teacher Mrs. Dunn had eyes of an eagle. She could tell just who it is that enters her class, even if she's not looking directly.

"Marrisa, detention."

Darn it.

Mrs. Dunn was always known to be a strict teacher. Once, she sent a girl in our class to run 5 laps around the school just because she was talking during her lesson.

I walked to my seat which was at the back of the room.

Everyone saw me as a weirdo and a nerd. Oh, one important thing, the school I currently attend is a all-girl school. As a child, my mother had a phobia for boys. She feared that having guys around me would cause me to lose focus on my school work and that my grades would drop. Stupid, right? Because, I know that my studies are more important. And to be honest, I still don't get how she had a 'phobia' for boys and she had me. Mmm... maybe I was adopted and I don't remember about it! But anyways, as a child, I lived around girls up until this time. My mom would ensure to place me in an all-girl institution to avoid guys. She wouldn't allow me to take the bus home, so she'd pick me up as soon as the school bell signals the end of school. But recently,  she taught me how to drive so I'm driving myself to school now with a tracker in the car. Sigh.

The point is, I have never had any interactions with any guy my entire life. Of course, I'd see celebrity guys on TV, and male models in the magazines but I have never been able to go up to a guy and say hi.

"MISS BROWN!"

I jumped out of my seat. "Uh?"

Mrs. Dunn was shaking furiously. "Don't you listen when I speak to you?"

"Sorry miss, I zoned out. Won't happen again."

"Why you-"

Rrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnng!

Finally!

Everyone rushed for the door. "Have a nice day Mrs. Dunn!"

A few of the girls snickered at Mrs. Dunn's failed attempt to throw her pen at me.

Alright, my first class is...

I looked at my time schedule.

Photography class. Yay!
