A/N- I'm actually writing the prequel, Complications, about Harry's best friend Alex!(So yeah i tried to put a pic of her on the side but the pic i chose wouldnt work and im so angry aghhhh!) You'll hear quite a lot about her in this chapter and also about Alex's background - it was basically a repeat of my childhood (the chubbiness, the hair, the books) and her change is a reflection of me also and the scars described are mine also if you wanted to know... hope you're enjoying it so far :) xx

Louis' POV

I couldn't understand why that Harry kid enchanted me so much. He was so confusing and weird, the cheeky and flirtatious glint in his eyes when he winked at me was very different to the awkward, shuffling and down right weirdo I'd seen not long before.

Yeah, I had seen him round school a few times, listening and watching Zayn pester him for days on end. But i mostly avoided his gaze. He looked at me a lot, now that i thought about it, whenever I turned i would catch him looking away from me; in lessons too. Also muttering to himself in the corridors and looking on either side of him constantly.

Yeah, Harry was weird.

Then why can't i get him out of my head?

Harry's POV

Before the last ring of the bell I was out the school doors and rushing to my car. It was a constant cycle, a blur; wake up, school, bullies, home, eat, sleep. I was surprised I still had any friends but I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I dived into my car and threw my bag in the back seat, speeding out of the school car park. I didn't usually drive to school, as I like walking and having the time to myself, but that morning the electricity had been shut off and I was late so I ended up taking my car.

After about fifteen minutes, the car tires found the dirt track leading off to their secluded home. My eyes took in the giant pine trees lining the road, looming over and blocking out all sunshine; the leaves changing as I passed and becoming lighter and less intimidating. Burnt auburn leaves littered the driveway as I pulled in, turning off the engine and relaxing back into my seat. I carefully watched my house.

The curtains in the living room had been pulled back, exposing the grand chandelier and L-shaped sofa that curved around the flat screen TV. The archway behind the sofa lead through to the dining hall with a large oak table situated in the centre, hard wood panelled flooring, a 5ft high fireplace with two vases of blood red roses on either end and a family photograph hung above. I could describe every detail, every wood panell, window ledge, painting, in that house. I'd lived there my entire life and would eventaully inherit it when the time came, but I didn't like to think about that fact too much. I sighed, unbuckling myself and exiting the car, jogging up the cobble pathway to the front door.

I caught sight of a scrap of paper stuck to the door as I pulled my house key out of my jacket pocket, frowning;

Hazza baby, I'm away out tonight with some friends so I won't be getting in till late :( Lily made dinner before she left so I think there is some cottage pie for you but if you're not in the mood for cottage pie then theres other food in the cupboard and fridge :)

Love you hunnie,

Mamabear xx

My frown cleared and I ripped the note off the door. Crumpling it in my fist, i unlocked the door and went inside; kicking it shut behind me. Silence.

It engulfed me, surrounding me like a cloak of loneliness, reminding me of how alone and forgotten I truly am. My parents never noticed I was here, I barely got to see my best friends because the majority of the time I was with them I wasn't...me. So my only company was two imaginery people in my head.
