Finally Finding You

Christina's pov

I sat inthe living room with Courtney's head on my lap. We watched TV together, a normal activity for us. My little girl was four now, and it was hard to believe it had been four years since I had found out she was inside me. 

I remember the day I found out and told Blake, her dad, he left me to care for her on my own. Even though I was working fourty hours a week and had not much money. 

But he didn't care. 

Still, I let her grow in my belly until it was time for her to come out. Childbirth hurts like hell and I wished Blake could have been there with me.

Once she was born, I looked into her eyes and knew that I could never ever give her up.

She was mine. 

So what if Blake didn't want her? She was a human life that needed parents. They said she'd have a slim chance of getting adopted anyways because she had asthma and nobody would want to live with that.

So I took her home with me three days later and raised her up like she should be. 

Now she was four and so perfect. I am so glad I kept her because she is the best daughter I could ever ask for.

"Mamma?" She asked.

"Yes baby girl?" I asked.

"Who's my daddy?"

I sighed. I told her everyday that her daddy loved her but he could not be with her but she didn't seem to know what that meant.

"Your daddy loved you baby!" I said.

Courtney frowned. "You say that all the time Mamma. Why isn't he here?"

"He left me when you were still in my tummy sweetie."

"Why did he leave? Didn't he love me?"

"I'm sure he did baby. He just didn't want to be a daddy yet."

"Why not?"

"I don't know for sure baby."

"Did he hit you like your daddy?"

"Sometimes. When he found out I was having you he hit me in the tummy."

"Why?"

"He didn't want you to be inside me."

"He is mean!"

"He was."

"Did he love you?"

"He used to."

"But I came along and spoiled everything." Courtney said sadly.

I hugged her tightly. "No baby, you made everything better. You made me very happy when you came."

"I did?"

"Yes."

"Can I see Daddy sometime?"

"I don't know baby."

"Mamma, will he come back?" Courtney said.

I smiled and hugged her.

"Maybe sweetie. Maybe someday."
