I was at the station, with my Mum, waiting for the train. She went to buy a coffee and a paper whilst I was watching time go by. There was this little girl with her Dad, she walked past me, jumping around. Her Dad was telling her to stay away from the side of the track. I caught a glimpse of her eye and smiled at her, she replied with a cheeky grin back at me, which once again, made me smile. I looked down to her T-shirt. It was One Direction. I then actually thought about what I was going to do. I mean, I was going to be hanging out with the biggest boy band in the history of boy bands. Why me? I'm just a random 16 year old girl from London. I didn't think of how many girls would want to be in this position, be able to have this opportunity. I guess it just hadn't sunk it yet, the realization.
I saw Mum walking back with the two coffees in her hand and holding the paper under her arm, so I quickly grabbed my coffee off her so she didn't drop it. She was lucky she was back in time as I saw the train arriving on the platform. We jumped on the train and grabbed a seat, it wasn't that busy as we were only by the villages and towns. It was going to get more crowed at each stop though, as we were heading into London. To the O2. I was sitting opposite Mum, I just started to watch out the window. Thinking, about everything. She started to read the paper. It was about 5 minutes later that she nudged me. I looked up,
"Jess hunny, you might want to see this" She said concerned passing me the paper.
I took it off her confused, and saw a picture, it was me and the girls with One Direction. I started to read, skipping through it. Why was I in the paper? I didn't really think that the pictures taken at Nando's yesterday would ever be in the paper. But why wouldn't they, why didn't I think about this? I was in complete and utter shock. I carried on reading, turned the page, and saw a picture of Annabella posing and smiling to the camera as we were trying to get out of Nando's. 1 picture in the paper is the same as 1000 words. Shes not worth 1000 words. Ergh. I passed the paper back to Mum. She looked at me funny, I just shrugged back at her. I didn't want to talk about it. I didn't want to be the centre of attention, I never have. I have just gone along with my friends, not standing out against the crowd and now I'm in one of the main papers with One Direction. It was all a bit too much to take in. So I just left it and stared out of the window for the rest of the journey.
My Mum stood up, which got my attention. It was our stop, we had to get off. My coffee was still in my hand, but I had hardly drunk any so it was stone cold. I binned it as I got off, then I started to walk down the path, heading in the direction of the O2. Me and Mum were chatting about things, just normal things. Like if I remembered to put the bin out this morning and if I had got all my dance stuff. It was just like a normal day to the Academy, not a day where I was going to a sound check and run through the concert at the O2 with One Direction. We headed in. I didn't realize how big it was, and I hadn't even seen the stage yet. I had to go through a different way to the normal ticket entrance because I was part of the 'cast'. I got given a special card thingy that would basically get me through any door in the building and a jumper which said One Direction Take Me Home tour Cast on the back. On the front in the corner was my name. I shoved it on over my top, and it felt pretty good actually. To be a part of something that I was going to enjoy.
I got shown into the changing room whilst Mum went with some of the other Mum's and Dad's who were coming to watch for the first time. When I went in, there was only a few of us, but then the others started turning up. I decided to just get changed into my leggings and black top whilst I was waiting for our outfits. Annabella came in, just in time, yapping away about how excited she was. I tried not to notice and just got out my phone, but I really couldn't be bothered to actually look if I had any messages. Finally one of the female stage managers came in with our uniforms. We all had different ones really, the same basis, black and gold but different. Some had black leggings with crop tops that had gold and some had gold sparkly shorts with black crop tops. Annabella was moaning on that she had really long legs so she 'had' to wear the shorts. The lady started to call out names, as they had already planned each outfit for each girl because all of the sizes were different. When she called out Annabella and gave her the outfit, I couldn't help but laugh, Annabellas face was priceless, she had been given the leggings outfit. She obviously didn't want to complain otherwise who knows what would happen. She wanted to impress them all so that she could get the 'best career possible' as she likes to say, all the time. I was the last person to be called out and I didn't really mind about which outfit I got aslong as I could dance in it! I got given the shorts outfit, and typically Annabella gave me a really dirty look. But who cares, shes not worth thinking about. We all got our outfits on, and we were given a pair of black high heels. I put them on, they fitted okay, but I didn't wear them often so I guess I would just have to get used to them. We were all walking around in them and we tried some of the big moves in them, it seemed alright so we got taken out and we were walking around for ages to get to the stage, when we finally did we had to wait at the sides of the stage so that they could get everything ready for One Direction's entrance, and then we would come on a few minutes after them.
