{I'm so sorry for the slow updates I'll try and do better from now on}

I abruptly stood up, my heart racing and my fists clenching and unclenching nervously. The other girl just looked up, but went back to scribbling again. Even though this was a detention room, oddly enough the wasn't a teacher in sight. Cautiously, I made slow steps towards the door, and I felt the other girl's eyes on me.

When I reached the doorway, I peered out and looked around the hall. teachers were scrambling down to the science wing in a frantic hurry, and were rushing past me, rambling and gossiping amongst one another as they passed. I stepped back inside the classroom, but kept my head leaning against the doorframe, picking up bits and pieces of conversations.

"In the science wing---15 year old--- throat slit, head bashed in--- chemical burns---"

Suddenly, the room began to feel like it was spinning, and I held on to the door for balance. The killer I was after had just taken another victim.

Someone burst into the room, making me jump and my heart nearly burst, but I was relieved when I saw it was Ms. Johnson.

"Detention is over for today, the school is going into lockdown," She said in a flustered, out of breath voice.

"You two... go immediately to your dorm room, don't make any stops on the way. The scho-" She was inturruped by the DING of the campus intercom.

"Students and staff, this is principal Miller speaking. The school is entering lockdown, effective immediatly. All sports practices, club meetings, and extracurricular activites have been canceled, and students should head to their dorm rooms right away. Again, the school is in lockdown. Check the school website later this evening for more information about what's going on."

There was a CA-CHUNK, and the line went dead.

Hurriedly, I collected my things from the desk, and made my way to the door. I glanced at Ms. Johnson one last time, and she was furiously scribbling things down on a legal pad while punching numbers into her phone before pressing it to her ear.

Just as I exited and rounded the corner, I heard her speak with a quaking tone.

"Hello, 911? We have an emergency."

On my way to my dorm room, I made sure to take a detour and pass by the action going on down the hall. Almost every single staff member from the school was crowded around one central area, right outsider the science lab.

I crept a close to the mob as I could, not wanting to get busted by any of the frantic teachers. I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't want a student like me spreading rumors about what they saw, so I keep my head low as I dive into the crowd.

Pushing and shoving my way through, I end up right outside the science lab, standing in the doorframe. it's a tight squeeze: I'm squished between an obese, red haired woman and a grey haired man who both smell like coffee and school in general. Despite the uncomfortable spot I'm in, I have a pretty clear view of the crime scene.

Paramedics in white scrub suits are all huddled behind a workstation counter at the far back of the lab. the end of a gurney sticks out from behind the counter, and I spot the leathery, black fabric of a body bag.

A few minutes later, all the paramedics stand and begin wheeling the gurney towards the door, the bag on top. A path is cleared, and I step to the side to let them through. the gurney is swiftly wheeled off through the crowd and down the hall, coroners and police officers trailing behind it.

Some teachers murmur amongst themselves, and others follow the gurney down the hall. I begin to receive suspicious looks from some teachers and take that as my cue to duck out of sight and head back to my dorm.

*SADIE'S P.O.V.*

"Well, better her than me."

I slid my phone into the crook of my shoulder and pressed it against my ear, using my free hands to flip through the latest issue of The Mirror.

"She was such a two-faced brat," I continued, "I can't believe that we were ever best friends."

I paused, leaving the magazine open to some boring article about that new pope over in some city over in Europe (?) .

I was on the phone with my friend Kelly, and we were discussing what had happened today. The girl who was murdered (actually no one's really sure what happened), Julie, use to be my best friend all through middle school. We were like peas and carrots, until freshman year, when I got my first serious boyfriend, Brady. Julie actually became so jealous of me that she told Brady that I had an STD, and one that was seriously contagious. Needless to say, he didn't show up to our date we had planned that night, and the next day he got someone to dump me for him so that he didn't have to get near me and my "diseased" self.

In conclusion, Julie Shroeder was a backstabber.

Suddenly, I heard the BEEP of the door unlocking, and I frantically said my goodbyes to Kelly and hung up. I guess my roommate was back. Joy.

*ZAYN/VERONICA'S P.O.V.*

"Oh hey Sadie," I mumbled as I threw my school back down by my bed and kicked my heels off. How can girls walk in those all day on a regular basis?

"I'm busy," Sadie replied, and dramatically flipped the page in her magazine. I ignored her.

"So, pretty exciting day today, huh?" I asked her, and she huffed.

"Yeah," She said, sounding annoyed. Whatever.

I made my way into the kitchen and got a glass out of the cabinet, an poured myself a glass of water. Just then, the doorbell rang, and my nerves went hay-wire.

"I got it!" Sadie yelled, and I hurried over to the mirror in the hall to check my disguise. I was good to go.

Sadie unlatched the door and turned the nob. A tall, green eyed boy in skinny jeans and a white shirt stood in the doorway, clad in a leather jacket and boots. His curly hair was windswept and oddly seemed to defy gravity. I should get some tricks from him on how to do my hair like that, it'd look sick. Oh wait.

"Hey big bro!" Sadie squealed and wrapped her arms around the boys neck in a hug. The boys squeeze her back.

"I came right when I saw the announcement on the news about the murder," the boy said, then glanced at me, giving a flirty half smirk before striding towards me.

Uh-oh.

"I'm Harry, Harry Styles," he introduced himself, and stuck out his hand. I shook it hesitantly.

"You must be her room mate. Veronica, is that right?" he asked, grinning.

"Y-yeah," I answered nervously.

"Nice. I'm Sadie's brother. It's nice to meet you," Harry replied.

With a wink.
