Once upon a time, in a town named Hamelin there was a mayor in deep despair, you may ask there is so many things to be happy about why be sad? Well the townsfolk have sent the mayor out of town to search for their missing children for the Pipe Piper has brought their children away to a mystical land of fun and wonder all because of his greed for not paying Pipe Piper.
All the blame was on him but the people were in a state of anxiousness and worry so they have to find someone to put the blame on and who better to put the blame on if not the mayor and with the evidence present. But nobody knows what is the true story that lies behind.
Beside the beautiful town of Hamelin, there was a town called Greyhound. The town were famous for their hounds as they were the best breed possible. the town was rid of theifs and robbers as no one dared to challenge the might of a hound all except one little creature, a rat. The town was full of rats in a matters of days no one knew where the rats came from they just appeared out of nowhere.
The rats as you all know ate their wheat, bit their clothes, and the hounds of the town did not know what to do as hounds were never meant to catch rats. The rats were far to agile, far to small for these hounds to even lay a paw on them. Worst still there were no cats in the town as the hounds have scared them all away to Hamelin.
In two weeks time, the rats outnumbered the people in Greyhound ten to one. They were desperate to find a solution. One day a strange man in a strange suit came calling himself the Pipe Piper. He said he could get rid of all the rats if the mayor of the town were to pay him one thousand pieces of gold. The mayor of the town was desperate so he agreed and payed Pipe Piper five hundred gold in advance.
Before the Pipe Piper played his flute he thought if I can do this to every town that would be wonderful one thousand gold a town, he would make a fortune. Then he started to play his flute and brought all the mouse to the town next door called Hamelin.
Well you know how the story goes in Hamelin the same situation, even their cats cannot catch those rats as rats reproduce very fast so the rats outnumbered cats twenty to one. What the storybook left out was the mayor of Hamelin visited Greyhound and chatted with the mayor. Not being as dumb as he looks he drew the connection of how the rats came to the town of Hamelin. So he was furious, but he need the Pipe Piper's help so he waited for the Pipe Piper to appear. Soon enough the Pipe Piper appeared. The Piper Piper asked for one thousand gold in payment to rid of the rats. The mayor agreed but the condition was the Pipe Piper had to kill off all the rats.
So he blew his pipe and sent all of the rats into a river and the people rejoiced as they were happy all the rats were drowned. One thing they did not know was rats are excellent swimmers and can even hold their breath for three minutes underwater. The mayor refused to pay the Pipe Piper. The outcome as we all know were unexpected, the Pipe Piper took all the children away by playing his pipe. Well the mayor did not know that the music could move humans too, he though the music only affected animals, but scientifically speaking humans are animals too.
So, the unlucky mayor had to bear the outrage just because he was protecting his rights and helping the other townsfolk people to not share the same fate. This is the true story of The Pipe Piper Of Hamelin.
