While I was walking home I saw many different people on their phones, so many of them almost got hit by cars. When I finally got home, I walked through the front door and my mother shouted out at me.
“Who is there?”
“Mom it is just me.”
“Oh.” She ran to the door. “How was your first day at Ridge Way High?”
“Oh, uhm I guess good.” I said with hesitation “I am going to go to my room.”
“Alright hunny!” she shouted from down the stairs. As I walked up the ascending stairs, I started to here loud music. When I got to the top the music was even louder. I yelled at my brother Shane to turn it down.
“No!” he said with his raspy voice.
“If you don’t then I will tell mom.”
“Fine! Be that way!” he slammed his door and turned down the music.
When I finally got to my room I plopped my bag down on my purple carpet floor and hopped on my bed. I looked at myself in the mirror and spotted my key necklace. I decided to walk over to my hot pink closet and open it. But only to find a small kiwi green box that had a lock on it. I walked back over to my bed and sat down. I took my necklace off and unlocked the box. I found pictures of my parents and my diary. I started tearing up after I saw the pictures. I opened my diary and started writing.
“Dear diary,
I still miss my parents. I know I did not know them that long before they died. But that is the reason why I miss them so much. I remember when I first found out that someone had stabbed them. I cried for days, asking for them back. I asked why this had happened to me, why it could not have happened to someone else. I still wonder that myself. Why can people not just realize we are the same as them, human or not. I was four when they died; I guess I should say murdered.
Okay, no more sad stuff. Today was my first day at Ridge Way High. The counselors and office people are very nice there. On my way to the office I bumped into this really cute guy. I helped pick up his books, for a quick second our hands were touching and we looked deep into each other’s eyes. I met another person at lunch. Her name was Sam. She seemed really nice, and we seemed to have a lot in common. In fact I am going to call her right now.
Love, AB
