Two weeks later, after 6 gruesome meetings with his own lawyer and Mallory's lawyer, (the kid was barely 13 and she had a lawyer.) he gained custodial rights over Mallory Lane Hanawa. One small problem though, he'd never actually met Mallory in the flesh. He'd received updates on her life, I.e, her birthdays, her major sports events, stuff like that, like most open adoption cases were. But they had never spoken. That was changing today. As Benkei pulled into the parking lot of the placement home Mallory was put in, Kyoya bolted out of the car. "Duuuuude stooppppp!" Benkei groaned. "I'm excited! Let's go!" He smiled. "I'm not!" Benkei countered. "What freakin' ever, dude."

Mallory sat in the lobby, scared. She had never seen this man before, and suddenly, he was her father. The only thing she knew about him was he had Brown eyes and Purple hair. She only knew that because her late mother had Blue eyes and blonde hair. A green haired man burst into the building, smiling widely. "Ohhh! There she is! Benkei she's a spitting image of you!" He laughed. Mallory shrunk back a bit. "No, that's good that's good, he's really hot to an extent." Kyoya laughed some more.
She really didn't like this guy.
Benkei finally walked through the doors, and it felt like she was punched in the ribs. He was just like her. They awkwardly approached each other. Mallory couldn't help it. She jumped into his arms, encasing him in a hug. It was her dad. Her actual, real life, Dad! This was amazing!

Benkei had never been so shaken up in his life. Why was this kid so clingy already? She literally just met him? He let the child down when she loosened her death grip. "Hi." She smiled, sniffling a little bit. "Oh, don't cry." Benkei smiled, wiping her face a little. "I am not worth crying over, trust me." He said. Mallory giggled a little and looked at the man with green hair. "Who is he?" She questioned. Benkei turned around and smiled. "That's my friend, Kyoya." He said, quickly being cut off. "You can call me Uncle Kyoya, dollface." He said, shaking her hand. Mallory laughed nervously. What was she gonna call Benkei? Just Benkei? Or Dad? After a few forms being signed and a goodbye traded between Mallory and her favorite worker, they left. "So, what's your name!" Kyoya asked Mallory. "Mallory Lane." She said. "Lane? Like, like the side of the road?" He said, looking at Benkei. "No. Lane like Abbey Lane." He smiled at Kyoya. "Adelaide loved the Beatles." He said. "She did." Mallory smiled a little more. "So, kid." Benkei said, getting to their car. "You like dogs?"
