Trial Day

Today is the day where Bethany and I see that carter Reynolds is sent down for his crimes. Bethany is a little less confident than me, but has promised she won't back out of testifying. Danielle is going to be in the court room. So are my parents and my brother. Mr Chimes is staying at home and I have agreed to go to his tomorrow to tell him the news as I don't want things to seem suspicious. I haven't had an abortion yet as Danielle advisedBethany's parents are with here and are sitting in the same row as my family. Just before Carter is brought in, Sarah and Kylie come in and sit next to me.

'Hi." I whisper.

"Hi." Kylie and Sarah say in sync.

Carter is brought in and he looks at me, then Bethany, then the judge. Time goes by and then Carter's lawyer stands up and faces us all.

"I'd like to call Ella Harris to the stand please." says Carter's lawyer.

I stand up and shuffle out of my row. I walk up to the stand and sit down. I look at Carter, Bethany, Sarah and Kylie, my family, then Carter's lawyer.

"Miss Harris. Can you tell us when the alleged attacks against you happened?" asks Carter's lawyer.

"The first time Carter raped me was on the second day of the new school semester. The second time Carter raped me was the morning after, on the third day of the new school semester. The third time Carter raped me was again on the third day of the new school semester, but this time, it took place in the girls showers in the girls changing rooms. The fourth time Carter raped me was once again on the third day of the new school semester and it was at his house after school." I say.

"Thank you Miss Harris. So, you say Carter has raped you four times, is that correct?" Asks Carter's lawyer.

"Yes." I say.

"Apart from raping you, did Carter do any other physical damage to you?" asks Carter's lawyer.

"He taped my mouth with duct tape on the first, second and fourth time. The third time though, he just shoved his top in my mouth. He slapped me a few times. He would also grab my wrists so hard that he left bruises." I say.

"Thank you Ella. No further questions your honor." Says Carter's Lawyer.

I sit down and then Bethany is called up. She looks a nervous wreck.

"Could you tell us when the alleged attacks against you happened?" asks Carter's lawyer.

"The um, first time Carter raped me was on the first day of the new school semester. We began to make out and I consented to that, but then Carter started to take thing's a little further than I like. I said no, but he didn't listen. I tried to push him off me, but he wouldn't move and he raped me." says Bethany.

"It says here that you accused Carter of raping you twice, is that correct?" asks Carter's lawyer.

"Yes. The second time he raped me was also on the second day of the new school semester. Carter had forced me to go to his house after school and help prepare for the party. He raped me for no apparent reason." Bethany says.

Bethany is allowed to sit back down and then Carter is called up and my lawyer is talking first.

"Carter, we have reasons to believe that you have indeed raped Ella Harris, and if you look on Page 1 jury, you will find the notes of Ella's rape kit. Although Ella showered before her rape kit was performed, bruising was found, and you have impregnated her." my lawyer says.

We hear gasps throughout the room. People start to talk, but the judge quickly silences them.

"Is there any actual solid proof that I'm the dad?" says Carter.
