Between the Words is a contest that focuses on providing context and meaning through fiction. It's for any writer that uses or has thought about using fiction as an outlet for social commentary and change. If you enjoy writing fiction that carries a deeper message about the world we live in, you've probably been looking for this contest without knowing it.
The contest is run by deboracrat and is judged by her, Journye, and Seph (account to be created). The rules, guidelines, and general things-to-know can be found in the next story. They may be updated at any time (but we will inform you).
The first iteration of #btw will determine how we will proceed with the contest in the future. For now, we will start with an Introduction Round, where entrants will get to post a new work as their "introduction" into conscientious writing. In general:
-Any genre of fiction and long-form poetry is welcome. However, works must not be Mature.
-Submitted works must be original and written for this contest, and include the tag #btw.
-Writers retain all rights to their work, plus everything else laid out in Wattpad's Terms and Community Guidelines.
-Winners will be featured in Shalamar's Reading List (and also the judges' if the judges so choose) until the end of the next contest. They will also be listed in this contest guide.
-Any questions should be submitted via message to Shalamar. Questions posted as comments may not necessarily be seen.
