As far as stage management and media studies goes, Xalthorian Frostfyend was an expert. Or at least, the closest thing Val'Selone high school had to an expert. Xalthorian was a short woman of around 5'3'' with a wild mane of fiery red hair and silver eyes, incredibly rare for anyone. She taught media studies and stage management well and her students seemed to get on pretty happily with her. The same could be said for the majority of the teaching staff and board of governors. Xalthorian practically always wore a grey jumper and black trousers with a rich blue, long coat along with the occasional braid to keep her unruly mane in check and her near-signature silver ring. It had been a gift from her previous partner, just before her tragic passing. It was around that time that Xalthorian had truly thrown herself into teaching to escape the reminder that her house was now empty, though the emptiness held a slight freedom due to the fact she'd managed to secure a job at Val'selone high school. Never again would she have to conform to Koldir Academy's military rules and suffer abuse from her peers. Thank the gods.
Every morning, Xalthorian walked up to the large pale building that was Val'Selone high school with a small smile on her face and today was no exception as she quietly wandered into the building. A student or two were milling around as she headed over to the north wing where her classroom was situated, just to the left of the performing arts wing. The strong woman pulled her keys from her pocket but was stopped when a tall fair haired woman in a white blazer came jogging up to her.
"Xalthorian! So glad I caught you! I have a favour to ask of you. My politics class need to have a debate and I was wondering if you could create a live debate set up?"
"Of course Leshanna, if you email me the details of what you need, I could probably even get some of my students to help."
"Thank you Xalthorian, oh you're a lifesaver!"
And with that, the politics teacher speed-walked away towards the east side of the building. Leshanna and Xalthorian had been friends for a while, generally ever since the media teacher had joined the school though Xalthorian supposed it was Leshanna's job to be sociable. Anyway, she unlocked her classroom and reached to the side to turn on the lights, illuminating the fairly wide room she taught in. Desks were arranged strangely and many large black crates were stood in the corners and to the side while her own desk was at the front of the room along with various other equipment. On her desk sat a large mug of strong tea with a small note beside it that simply had the letters 'A.S' on it. Xalthorian let out a chuckle and took the mug with a smile, the hot beverage warming her comfortably in the Autumn months. She drank some of the tea as she took a seat in the chair behind her desk and a bell rang through the school to announce the start of the school day. Students filed into the room with quiet but cheerful conversation and all of them took their seats with no complaints.
"Mornin' class. Thanks to Miss Holimion, we've got a bit of a task on our hands. Now, who's in the mood for a live debate before we deal with other technicalities?"
Tutorial rolled around quicker than expected and Xalthorian still wore her cheerful smile as her regular students left and her assigned group joined her in the oddly quite welcoming room. The older students had known the media teacher for a few years and knew some of her mannerisms fairly well, along with how she got on with certain other members of staff.
"Morning Miss Frostfyend, did you hear about the dance competition that Counsellor Madrish organised? The one for staff that students pick the songs and pairs?" The student wore a mischievous grin and a few others were smirking as Xalthorian adjusted the collar of her grey jumper.
