Sam

Sam sat in the driver seat of the Impala. A '67 Chevy Impala to be exact. It was Dean's baby. But now he left it behind. 'Just like me,' Sam thought. He sighed. It had been a few days. All he did was drive the Impala all day. During the night he would either sleep in the car or find some cheep motel. It was the same routine. Though each day he ate less and less. Drank more and more.

Sam thought about doing the unthinkable. What he promised both Dean and Cas he wouldn't do. Sam thought about saying yes. What if he did? There was no one to stop him. Bobby didn't know about Dean, and Sam wasn't going to be the one to tell him. Sam couldn't tell their almost father that his almost son was possesed by an angel and was not going to survive. He couldn't tell even himself that Dean was going to die.

Sam sighed. He continued to drive on an almost empty highway. His watch read 7:10 P.M. He had to decide where he was going to sleep tonight. An actual bed in a crappy motel or in the car. He knew a town was coming up with a small hotel.

__________

Sam walked out of the check-in room and started toward his room. Room 6. But while he walked, he walked into someone. "Sorry," Sam said, not looking at his face. When he tried to get around the man the man stopped him.

"Where are you going, Sam? We haven't talked in a while."

Sam looked up and saw him, "Lucifer. What are you doing here?"

"Well, I was just passing though Chicago. Then I heard you were here so I thought I'd stop by to say hi," he said. His face was, losing skin. Like some of it had melted off. "I heard rumor that your brother had said yes to Micheal. Where is that little devil doing?" He smiled when he said devil.

"Why would you want to know?" Sam asked him. Even though he wanted this conversation to end, he continued with the questions.

"Because if you ever decide to say yes, then you have to know that in your mind, you'll have to see him either kill you. Us. Or us kill him. All apart of the deal."

Sam sighed. "He said yes."

Lucifer smiled. He laughed. "Really? Wow. What are you doing now?"

Sam sighed. "Can you just leave me alone?"

Lucifer sighed. "I guess," he shrugged starting to walk away. "Have fun living the rest of your life alone."

Lucifer almost was completly gone when Sam stopped him. "Wait." He said. Lucifer turned around to face Sam.

"Yes?" Lucifer asked with a smile on his face.

"What if I said yes? Would you promise not to hurt Cas or Bobby?" Sam asked. All he could think about was what little family he had left. There was no way to get Dean back. He knew Lucifer couldn't make any promises on him.

"I can try. But on the angel. Castiel. I can't make a full promise. But with the old man, I can try," Lucifer told him.

Sam nodded. "Then yes. Just don't hurt them. But if anything happens to them, then you have to pay respects. Do the right thing."

Lucifer smiled. "Promise."

There was a large flash of white. Sam, Lucifer, smiled. "Time for war, brother."
