Chapter 1

"We are about to land. Please make sure your seat belt is fastened and all electrical devices are switched off " the pilots voice echoed through the plane as I awoke from my nap.
I was finally here, the beautiful New York City.
The plane landed and we slowed down into a stop. I grabbed my bag and stood up. Everyone spilled off the plane.
"Enjoy your stay" the flight attendant smiled at me as I walked through the door. I gave her a smile back and made my way down the steps. I took a breath of relief as I reached the ground.
Smiling, I made my way into the airport.

After 2 hectic hours of getting through customs, I reached the final part of my airport journey. I scanned the room for the sign saying my name and finally found it:
"Sophia Reed- Hotel RIU Plaza"
I walked towards the man and said hello. I followed him outside to his taxi and hopped in the passenger side (which would actually be the drivers side back in England).
"So, are you on vacation ?" The driver asked me in his strong American accent.
"No. I'm actually moving here, I'm staying in the hotel whilst I find a nice apartment to move in to. I've found an amazing opportunity over here and I'm hoping to work on it for a few years before getting a job" I told him.
"Oh that sounds cool, what are you studying may I ask?"
"I'm hoping to get a career in dance and the academy is just so much better than any in the Uk!"
"Oh wow, cool"
We pulled up outside a gorgeous hotel. I hopped out and grabbed my bags out of the trunk. The driver rolled his window down.
"Enjoy your time here madam, good luck in the future!"
"Thankyou so much!" I gave him the money for the taxi and took my bags into the lobby...
