Ugh, this was horrible for her. Oh why am I sating ugh? If I were her I would too.

Poor Eliza fidgeted with her fingers, as she flew home upset about what had happened. All she wanted was to have more fun. But nope it was all about working on carrying supplies out to the rest of nature. Sighing, she arrived home and opened the door, walking in, closing the door and falling face first onto the floor.

What? Did you really think I would say she fell on her bed?

You cliché thinker.

The brunette rolled onto her back and sat up, sighing as she looked around. Little Eliza lived in an acorn. Like, I don't know, all the rest of fairies.

'I want to leave this place but I don't know where to go...' She dragged herself to the bed (literally) and crawled under the leafy covers. 'I should just give up...' The sun was setting and she needed to sleep.

Closing her green eyes, she fell asleep.

THUD

Eliza shot up in bed to see her journal on the floor, and a ball of light shot under her bed. Curious, she leaned over the side and looked for the light, and saw the light, but it looked like a bug.

But what kind?

"Hey buddy.." Eliza called out quietly and calmly. The bug scooted closer, obviously timid. "It's OK, I won't hurt you". She did this for a few minutes, and eventually the bug was out and a lot more confident.

"So you can't talk?"

A head shake

"How can I ask you questions...?"

Silence.

Then the bug started flashing its light, making a noise each time.

"What?"

It did it again and it clicked.

-.. --- / -.-- --- ..- / -.- -. --- .-- / -- --- .-. ... . / -.-. --- -.. . ..--.. (Do you know Morse Code?)

Eliza gasped. Of course she knew! Her dad was the fairy that taught Samuel Morse the code itself. She nodded and smiled. Now time for questions.

"What are you?"

.- / ..-. .. .-. . ..-. .-.. -.-- (a firefly)

"What's that?"

The bug looked shocked.
-.-- --- ..- / -.. --- -. .----. - / -.- -. --- .-- ..--.. ( You don't know?)

Shaking her head Eliza felt guilty. No fairy knew what thrived in the night. No fairy was outside at night.

And during the day she had never seen one of these as most nocturnal insects or animals, that's what the elves were for.

"So what is a firefly?"

.- / -. --- -.-. - ..- .-. -. .- .-.. / -... . . - .-.. . (A nocturnal beetle)

"Alright alright..."

This continued for a while. Turns out, his name was Lee and he was lost from his family.

Of course Eliza didn't do anything, but she still felt guilty. The poor bug lost his family, all alone.

"Hey, uh if you want I can help you find them...us fairies don't go out at night but I'm willing to break some rules to help a new friend out. Plus this is a chance for me to be free and fly without worrying about work!!" She bit her lip "But only if you want me too..."

Lee buzzed excitedly
.-. . .- .-.. .-.. -.-- ..--.. / -.-- --- ..- / .-- --- ..- .-.. -.. / -.. --- / - .... .- - ..--.. (Really? You would do that?)

Eliza nodded and as soon as she did that the little beetle headbutted into her chest full of joy and flickered its light intensely.

- .... .- -. -.- / -.-- --- ..- / ... --- / -- ..- -.-. .... --..-- / - .... .- -. -.- / -.-- --- ..- (Thank you so much, thank you)

Eliza stood and softly pushed him off his chest, and started to gather things she would need.

Map, Check.

Food, Check.

Necter, Check.

Extra clothes, Check.

Bag to carry all the stuff, Check.

Dagger just in case danger comes, Check.

The green eyed girl sighed and looked at the moon directly in the middle of the starry night sky. Looking at her clock, it read 12:01am. Perfect. Not to early but not to late. She turned her attention to Lee and nodded, opening her door. "Let's go"

Lee told her something in Morse Code i shall not say. However it certainly made Eliza smile and head out thinking, 'He is right...I should do that'.
