Today was the day of the reaping! I was so excited, I couldn't wait. I've been rehearsing for today for months. Everything I've done since I was little was in preparation for this. To be eligible to enter for the reaping, you must be at least 16, a girl, and Caucasian. Which I was all of the above. The reaping took two days to complete. Day one, today, was the fashion show. Everyone eligible from ages 16-22 competes in this. This is how they determined whose name for each state was going into the bowl tomorrow. The people who the judges loved the most and thought looked to be the most typical white girl went into the bowl. I felt as though I had this in the bag. I had blonde hair, blue eyes, got spray tans. I looked like the typical white girl.
I walked out on stage in a gorgeous blush dress.
I had my makeup done perfectly and my hair was in this awesome curled pony tail with a braid. I was wearing six inch heels and started my way down the cat walk with one hand on my hip. I walked with sass, flair, and elegance. At the end of the runway I struck a pose and walked away like how I walked on. I nailed it. I saw it in the judges eyes that they loved me. Could you blame them though, I looked fabulous. Everyone was clapping for me. No surprise there.
"Let's give Ashley another round of applause." The announcer said. "Next up is Brentalina." He said.
It can't be. I got a good look at the face and it was. This was the person I used to have a crush on. And before you ask, no I am not a lesbian! I was right, over the summer it looked like he was wearing lipstick and got his eyebrows done. Turns out he did. He walked down the runway with five pounds of make up, the most froofiest, bedazzled dress, and 8 inch heels. What is going on at home? More importantly, what did I ever see in him? I mean, I thought he was the one. So glad I'm over him. My best friend, Sara came over, " is that Brent?" She asked.
"Yep."
"That boy is messed up." She replied.
"You mean that girl." I replied and she laughed. This was Brentalina's dress.
I will say though, the blue went with his eyes quite well. "He sure can make that dress work." I said to Sara and we both died of laughter.
"Wait a minute, isn't there a bikini portion." She pointed out.
