Prologue

There are moments in life which are anticipated for and there are moments in life which are unexpected. Sometimes, the moments hold the biggest happiness but sometimes the unexpected is the worst and could bring the world crashing down around you. Right now, it was James moment in life, a moment he had been waiting for and had looked at the calendar everyday for. The moment he couldn't help but smile about every time he thought about it. It made him nervous but he knew he would never change that moment. The moment he became a father for the second time and it felt just like the first time.

James gritted his teeth as his mates hand tightened around his. Even though he could feel the warmth seep in from their connection. At times he would just hold her hands and close his eyes knowing his other half was right next to him. The spiritual connection with his mate Jennifer was unreal and he was always amazed by the deep connection and just how it close it bought them each day.

James knew this wasn't one of those times, he could just enjoy the presence of their connection or be grateful for what he had because right now his mate was in extreme pain as she pushed to bring their two angels into the world. His heart constricted as his wife let out a painful scream, he didn't even notice the doctor giving orders to his wife to when to push and when to take a break. He looked at his beautiful even covered in sweat and her beautiful heart shaped face scrunched up in pain. He couldn't help but just think how beautiful she was. She had the softest blond hair, it felt like silk between his fingers or when he rested his chin on top of her head. He knew her light brown eyes, they reminded him of a desert so deep and they made his mouth dry up just staring at them.

He snapped out of his train of thoughts leaning over and kissing his wife's sweaty forehead. He stroked the hand his wife had a death grip on with the pad of his thumb hoping to soothe her. She lifted her head off the pillow, letting out an ear piercing scream and soon enough another scream joined in. James eyes instantly filled up as he stared at the sight of his daughter being lifted and wrapped in a soft blanket. His wolf felt the connection with his baby girl as he watched the doctor hand the little bundle to Jennifer. He silently looked at the little life in pure adoration, he couldn't believe he had a daughter. He could see the small patch of brown hair on her small head, he willed for her to open those eyes so he could see.

His breath caught in his throat as he watched her blink. He couldn't help but let those tears escape as he looked into his daughters light brown eyes, just like her mothers.

"Here" Jennifer said, at first he didn't understand she was saying before he realised she was handing him their daughter. He was quick to cradle her head gently. He felt his heart warm as he stared down at the small angel. He let out a little chuckle as he saw her scrunch her little face up as she looked at him.

"Welcome to the world Love Hills" He spoke softly to his daughter, his throat felt tight with emotion. They had already decided the names and it did take a lot of agreements and disagreements between his wife and him. He heard his mates whimper, he cursed as he realised his wife wasn't done yet. He hesitated before handing, the little bundle to the nurse. He watched the nurse carefully, relaxing as he realised his daughter was safe with her.

"Come on baby one more to go" he said to his wife, kissing the side of her head. She gave him a small smile before her face scrunched up in pain. He felt like there was a band around his heart, squeezing it slowly and with each breath it got painful to watch his wife suffer. After a couple of minutes, he couldn't be more thankful to see his second daughter come into the world.

Half an hour later, James sat next to his wife holding their second daughter, Lisa Hills. She had her fathers grey eyes and brown hair. He looked over at his wife who held their first daughter and next to his wife was their son, Luke. He was only 2 but he knew that more members had joined the family as his big blue eyes stared at the tiny Angels in wonder.

James felt like the luckiest guy on earth as he stared at his family. He loved them and would do anything to protect them. He didn't worry about the responsibility because he knew any sleepless nights were worth it because he would have his family. He loved them and could only hope his children had a future ahead of them which was filled with happiness and love. Pain and sorrow may come in the way but they should never part because in the end there will always be light.
