Immortal Fatality

Emmett:

I heard from James that Cameron has become more aggressive since Abigail returned.

I don't understand why she left the way she did. I told her the truth and she looked at me like I was crazy.

Although I do admit when I first found out about my abilities I was a bit hesitant to learn more. It's not every day you find out you're immortal or that you can make people relax simply by touching them.

I first discovered my abilities as a child in school. I was rather small and other kids used to pick on me because of my size. And one day the group who usually messed with me cornered me.

Once they had me they began to bad mouth me. Calling me hateful names and something inside me just snapped. A container that was sitting on top of a box rose in the air and smacked one boy in the head.

He thought his friend threw it at him. Of course I had no idea how it happened I just remember laughing. However my laughter was cut short once he hit me hard.

As soon as he made contact I touched his arm and I felt as though my energy was being drained from me. His expression changed and he pulled his fist back.

I held his arm tighter as he turned around and chased his friends away. It turned out that he felt my power and knew immediately that I, like him, was an immortal.

We soon became close friends, brothers even. However during a raid on the home of Immortals, a group of feral vampires invaded Carter. My friend had found his true love, became human and started a family. Unfortunately he was killed defending his family from the vampires.

He made me promise to protect the new immortals, the children of the originals. And I have done just that but now they have all but grown into powerful and amazing people. They have asked that I leave them to their duties and to go out and find my destiny.

As an immortal it's my destiny to find the love of my life. But as Emmett Lockhart, it's my destiny to earn back the love of Abigail. And that's why I'm parked outside of their apartment trying to work up the courage to walk up there and knock on the door.

I get out of my car and walk to the door just as I raise my hand to knock the door flies open. Abigail stands there with tears in her eyes and a big black bruise on her cheek she sees me and her eyes go wide. "Where is he Abigail?" her head falls down and she points inside. I walk in Cameron's eyes meet mine and his face fills with rage.

"YOU HOW DARE YOU SHOW YOUR FACE HERE." he says pointing his finger at me his eyes soon glaze over turning blue to dark red. "YOU HAVE COME TO YOUR DEMISE FOOL." I let out a sigh of frustration realizing what is actually happening.

I look back to Abigail she has a shocked look on her face "Abigail your boyfriend is possessed." she soon cowers behind me.

Cameron laughs evilly before attacking me. A wave of energy hits me hard blowing me back against the wall. I hear a scream from Abigail.

"EMMETT NO!" I get up slowly shaking my head as I look up Cameron is stalking towards me.

I raise my hand stopping him in his tracks with a flick of my finger he flys backward. Smashing into the TV I mentally call for James to get here so he can take Abigail.

Cameron gets up and rushes towards me we meet head on. I connect my fist with his jaw and he knees me in my stomach. We continue back and forth until the door bursts open. James rushing in he grabs Abigails arm and tries pulling her out of the room but she won't budge.

Her eyes watch us closely an almost pleading look on her eyes. I honestly can't tell who she's rooting for, either way one of us is going to die.

Cameron wraps his hands around my neck attempting to choke me but to no avail. I fall back and use my feet to launch him behind me. He crashes and slowly staggers to his feet.

I establish a link within his mind he clutches his head screaming out loud before dropping to his knees.

"GET OUT OF MY HEAD." he says with a scream.

I push harder into his mind finding the source of the possession. It feels like demon is inside him, it's almost taken over him.

No wait it's not a demon it's a spell a dark spell I'd say it was cast by a vampire. Which means tragically there's no saving him.

I raise my hand raising his body temperature, his blood begins to boil. It slowly rises higher and higher until his insides completely explode. He falls to the floor his lifeless body unmoved.

Abigail looks at him then to me with tears in her eyes. She runs to me leaping into my arms, and sobs quietly. "I was so scared Emmy I'm sorry I didn't believe you." I wrap my arm around her holding her close, I whisper. "I'll always protect my queen."

James looks at me before bowing his head he takes his leave probably to arrange for this mess to be cleaned up. I take Abigails hands in mine and look down at her "Let's go home darling."
