1938
I sighed as I lay back in the trash that was the once beautiful cabin. And by trash I mean the wooden beams and pieces of wall and fabric that lay around me.
It all started with two little words, "I do."
"Do you, Emmett McCarthy...
"Do you, Jules Cullen...
"I do."
"I do."
"You may kiss the bride," The priest said to Emmett as we said our final vows.
Emmett's large hand carefully took the veil and pulled it over my head, revealing my smiling face to him.
I could tell my eyes were shining with joy as Emmett leaned in closer to me as we were surrounded by our family and a few of the towns people of Forks. But none of them mattered as suddenly Emmett picked me up so my face was level with his and he and I joined together in a blissful kiss, pouring in all of our devotion and adoration of each other.
I could faintly tell that around us people were clapping and cheering but I ignored them and focused solely on Emmett, my love, my heart, my mate.
It had only been one year since the treaty was made, and the day I realized I loved Emmett. Apparently he knew he loved me the second he opened his eyes as a vampire, and was just waiting on me.
Well whatever he wants to say he can, but I wasn't as easy to fall in love with someone as he was. Not that I doubted he loved me less than I did him. No, I don't think anyone could love me as much as Emmett did, or as much as I loved him.
And I did love him, more than anything or anyone in this entire world. I loved his brash nature, I loved that he hardly ever lied, finding there to be no need, I just loved everything about him, and I was mentally kicking myself for not realizing it sooner.
After the wedding and the party afterwards Emmett and I had left for our honeymoon on the Isle of Sky in Scotland. Esme and Carlisle had gifted us with a Cabin in the middle of nowhere that was put in our name. Thankfully as we had destroyed it with our many trysts on the bed, on the couch, on the wall, on the floor, well on everything...
Then we spent our time rebuilding it by hand with the help of a hardware store in the town a few miles from us.
So a year later we'd returned to our family for Rosalie and Lukas's wedding, then we stayed in Forks, in a separate house, until the family had to move again as it was going on five years and people were beginning to notice our appearance hadn't been changing but had yet to comment. Which is why Edwards gift was used as a look out for us.
1950
We'd moved to a town called Ashwick in Canada this time, the entire family had. Emmett and mine's love life had died down enough that they could stand to be in the same house as us, let alone the same room. Now Rosalie and Lukas were a different story. And we all knew when they left every night exactly what they were doing. I felt considerably bad for Edward.
I was sitting outside on the back porch reading while facing the vast forest that we lived within. Esme was inside cooking; even though we didn't eat she wanted to be the perfect housewife of all time. And we had to buy enough food to keep up appearances that seven people lived in our home. So we ended up donating all the food to places around us so it didn't become a waste.
I sometimes joined her in the cooking but today I was not up to it so Rosalie was helping instead.
I stilled, as I was about to change the page, sensing two vampires coming straight towards our house. I sensed no ill will from them, and one of them seemed overly happy while the other was more reserved and their intent seemed to be fluctuating so much that I couldn't quite discern exactly what it was.
