(Y/N)'s POV

Running. Just keep running. No... it's no use. It's at my heels, I can feel it's horrid breath on my back. Running becoming futile as my feet felt as they were stuck in muck. No...no...stay away! I see familiar faces ahead on a hill, watching as I began to be consumed by the evil entity. I cried for help, desperately reaching out for them. They merely stared in disgust, and began to walk away one by one. My cries faded; my voice disappeared,  vision blurred by tears and blackness. Darkness... falling in darkness alone…

I jolt up in bed, gasping and panting, covered in cold sweat. I look around the room, nothing out of the ordinary, besides it being dark. I look over at the clock on my bedside table. 2:00 am it read. I groan, dragged myself out of bed and into the bathroom. Splashing my face, washing the sweat away. After drying my face, I stare at the girl in the mirror. Wild and matted (h/c), tired and faded (e/c) eyes, and somewhat gnat face. The more I stare at her, the more I loathe her. I couldn't stand her... I couldn't stand myself. I hang my head as I hear them again; the voices echoing inside my mind. 'Pathetic’  'Worthless’  'Mistake’ 'Disgrace’.... All of these and more continue to plague my mind. I look up at the mirror again, then I snapped. I screamed and smashed the mirror; my reflection cracked and fell into pieces on the floor.

Ratchet’s POV

I jumped out of bed hearing a scream and a crash. (Y/N)! I run to her room to check on her, with my omiwrench in hand. She's not in bed. I hear another yell from the bathroom. I try going in, but the door is locked. “(Y/N)? Are you alright?” No answer. “(Y/N)! Answer me!” Still nothing. With a shout and my omiwrench, I knock the door down, step in to find glass all over the floor. I found spots of blood. My heart dropped. I spotted a trail leading to the bathtub, where (Y/N) was curled up. “(Y/N)...are you alright?” She lifts her head, looking at me. Her face tear stained, cuts were all over. I pick her up bridal style; her arms immediately wrap around my shoulders, and I feel her nuzzle into my neck, hiccuping. I sigh, tiptoeing across the floor without getting my feet all cut up from the glass.

3rd POV

After bandaging and cleaning (Y/N), as well as sweeping up the broken glass off the floor, Ratchet sat down beside her on the bed.“(Y/N), what happened?” Ratchet asked. The dear hugged her knees, her ears drooping.

“Please, tell me what's wrong. I want to help, (Y/N),”

Still silent. Ratchet clenched teeth. “(Y/N)! Please talk to me! I can't stand it! It's killing me not knowing what the heck is wrong with you!” He yelled, making the girl flinch. She looked up at him, seeing him on the verge of tears broke her heart. “I... I had a nightmare,” she shudders, holding back her own tears. “I was running...from the shadow that looms over me. I... I tried running, but I couldn't get away. It caught up, and began to consume me…” she began choking on her words. “ There were people...my friends...on a hill nearby. They did nothing but turned their backs on me and walked away…. And... I... I was alone. Nothing but darkness. I was left all alone... because I couldn't conquer my shadow... my fears… my...self hate….” She began to cry. Ratchet held her close as she cried on his shoulder. He runs his fingers through her (h/c) hair, and sensing she's holding back, he whispered, “It's alright. Just let it out, okay? Don't be afraid. I'm right here.” (Y/N), hearing his soothing voice, let it all go. Sobbing and bawling, letting a river of tears flow down her face, and on to her friend's shoulder. After a good cry (and a bit of nose blowing), (Y/N) finally calmed down. Ratchet still held her close. “(Y/N),” he says.

“Hmm?” she mumbled. He places his forehead against hers, looking into each other's eyes. The male Lombax opened his mouth to speak, but closed it as he had a better idea. In one swift moment, he wrapped himself and (Y/N) in a blanket, nuzzling into her neck. The female Lombax blushed harshly, but soon melted to Ratchet's gentle touch. Not a word was spoken, not a sound from either of one of them, except a couple of light snores. Clank, who was woken up by the commotion, stood in the doorway, smiling. 'Actions do indeed speak louder than words,’ He thought to himself, went back to bed.
