She was always the one in every grade that was in the corner reading or would choose the desk farthest from everyone in the classroom, and never raised her hand. "That one girl" as everyone called her, her real name was natty 11years old, she never told anyone her name cause she thought that the other students would make fun of her. Natty lived in the ran down old brick apartment building on 10th street, on the 3rd story in the only 2 bedroom apartment that smelled like pizza and sharpies. Natty always either wore a white dress with yellow blossoms on it or jeans with a shirt, her favorite colors of shirt were purple, and red. Her mom Sydney had left two years ago to follow her heart with a man and left natty behind with her dad Ryan and Ryan questioned himself on how he would be able to take care of himself and natty so he gave up once his wife left he started drinking before going to work and right after work he would come home drunk and frustrated and would take it out on Natty. Natty then became more and more afraid of her dad she started walking to the park and did her homework there and then just sat there on the old rusted chained swings crying thinking what if he never came out of this stage, what if he kept drinking and never stopped then she would have to get a job. But then that thought was interrupted by a boy that was walking the trail he looked over at her and then in the midst of the twilight she realized it was josh, one of the most popular boys in school. Josh walked over and seat on the swing next to her and that squeaky noise and they both looked at each other and just laughed.Josh looked at natty and noticed something was wrong so he asked "what was wrong" and natty just looked and didn't say anything and then Josh just said " well if you aren't going to tell me whats wrong then I'm going to tell you whats wrong. So Josh told her what was wrong with him and it was practically the same situation that was going on with Natty except his father left and it was his mother that was being mean to him and his mom also had a really good job as an accountant rather than her dad that works as a plumber. They then talked for a long time then by the time they noticed it was midnight and they decided to just sleep in the rolling house that was in the park and go home when their parents weren't home in the morning. They both then went home and decided to go to their houses and meet back at school and meet at recess. At recess they talked about their old parents that left them, and about how they dreamed about one day that their parents would one day snap out of it and come back to reality and stop thinking that their other parents would come back. The recess bell rang and the kids went back inside and decided to meet back at the park after school, they got off the old squeky rusted sing and walked inside. Natty went back to Mrs.Jones class and sat back at her desk the only desk that was over by the book self, and then josh walked in the class room gave her a look and sat down at his desk next to a bunch of friends and then turned from natty and looked at his friend Connor. After half an hour of math, 1 hour of science the school day was over and natty walked to the door but the odd thing is, is that josh came and stood next to he in the door way and they walked out to the front of the building and they couldn't believe their eyes.
