"Okay. So would anyone like to tell me how World War II started?" My teacher, Mr. Danforth asked as he walked from the board to his desk.I raised my hand and looked around briefly at my class to see who else knew it and to my surprise, many of my peers wanted to answer the simple question as much as I did. Although I noticed, Skylor's hand wasn't raised, but moreover scrolling through his phone.
"How about you, Skylor?" Mr Danforth called.
He looked up from his phone and gave off an incredibly cold stare. "I don't know. That's probably why my hand wasn't raised."
"I think you do know." The teacher continued, hoping to get a possible answer out of him.
"Well maybe you should think less." He gave off a ridiculed smirk.
"At least try to answer the question. Otherwise you can leave the class, Mr. Cruise."
"Fine." He grabbed his backpack and slung it over his shoulder. He walked out of the class but not before he pitched his last comment at our teacher. "I don't need this anyways."
Although Skylor and Mr. Danforth argued a lot in class, I could see that there was something he knew about Skylor that made him want to make him a better student. You know, teacher who looks as though they can't stand the delinquent student but ends up looking out for that student the most? Yeah that.Wait. I haven't even introduced myself yet. Well my name is Skylynn Rivers I have beautiful blonde curly hair with bright blue eyes and I am a junior in high school. I'm new here. I suck at math, science, and everything that's even adjacent to it. I have two friends so far, Bonnie and Jonah. And no, Jonah is not gay. Well I mean, I don't think he is. If he is then he's never said anything about it. Oh no, what if he is but I've been a horrible friend lately with all of my Netflix dates and he feels like he can't confide in me? Or maybe he isn't. Well anyways, we'll cross that bridge later
And for the boy who just got kicked out of class, his name is Skylor Cruise and he's a senior. I only have one class with him and its twelfth grade European History. What can I say? I love history. Just kidding. But really, it's because I transferred schools this year and the guidance messed up my schedule.
Anyways, like I was saying. I don't know too much about him nor do I want to, but I hear he's no good. He's always with his brother, Crawford and their friends, Jason and Chase.
Bell Rings
"Hey Sky, what's up?" Jonah asked as he caught up to me while walking to lunch.
"Waiting for school to end so I can go home and do nothing for the rest of the day." I gave him a knowing look and picked up lunch tray and followed the line through the cafeteria.
"See, this is why you should be happy that you have a friend like me, because without it, your social life would eventually die."
"Perks of being a wallflower." I said as I rolled my eyes playfully, putting a desert bowl onto my tray.
After getting my food, Jonah and I sat at a lunch table. I saw a few students look at us for a brief second but I shrugged it off. A few minutes later Bonnie sat and joined us.
"So is it just me or is everyone staring at you?" I asked Bonnie, weirded out by all of the looks students were sending her.
"I don't know." She looked around for a second until her facial expression faltered.
"Oh no." Bonnie muttered.
"What?" Jonah asked.
"Jonah, do you not remember why people don't sit here? At this table?" She emphasized.
"Oh no." Jonah exhaled. "I was following Sky and completely forgot. Well let's just go to another table." Jonah finished.
Wait, why?" I asked.
"Because this table is basically for people other than us." Jonah beckoned me off the seat.
"Why? Is this table reserved or something." I furrowed my eyebrows.
"You can say that." Bonnie shrugged.
"To who?" I asked.
"To me." A deep voice spoke from behind us.
I turned around and saw Skylor with his friends. If looks could kill, I'd be having a funeral right now.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" He never took his eyes off of me. Probably because I was still the only person sitting down at the table.
"Hey man, she's new here, she didn't know it was your table." Jonah spoke up for me. Because if any words would have came out of my mouth, I would've been a goner.
"Did I ask you?" Skylor's glare was now aimed at Jonah.
I didn't notice the scene we had made but the entire lunchroom was quiet. Really quiet, I even think the lunch ladies were peeping in on it.
I couldn't let Jonah get involved when this was clearly my fault, so I made it my business to interfere.
"Look, I'm sorry I sat at your table. I didn't know." I mumbled, his intimidation made me not stand to look him eye to eye.
"She's new here. Give the girl some slack, yeah?" Crawford nudged Skylor's arm as they both stood.
"Fine. Don't let it happen again." Skylor snarled.
Seriously, he was doing all of this, causing this big of a scene over a damn table? Are you kidding me. I don't know what it was but there was a sudden jolt of impulse pervading; the martyr in me spoke up.
"Let's just make one thing clear, Skylor. You don't tell me what to do." It took all of me to try and make my glare sufficient enough to seem believable. And he looked beyond pissed. The look of his friends' faces were almost comical. I made sure to turn around and walk out of the cafeteria before he could say anything.
Exits Cafeteria
"Oh my gosh, you should've seen his face. Damn, that was cool!" Bonnie gave Jonah a high five as they laughed walking down the corridor with me.
"He looked like he wanted to kill me." I muttered.
"What the hell got into you?" Jonah asked.
"I have no idea. I'm literally shell shocked right now." I replied.
"You do realized you have now made an enemy of Skylor Cruise?" Bonnie explained.
"Don't remind me." I sighed.
