My New Life

The glow of the tv was the only light source in my otherwise dark room. I was staring at the ceiling. My phone said it was nearing 2 in the morning. I had my eyes closed when I heard rustling outside of my window. My window is on the second floor. Then suddenly the window swung open and there stood a very familiar figure. It was one of my best friends Adam. He had on his usual leather jacket. I swung the comforter off of my body standing up in a night gown. Adam moved his brown bangs out of his face and smiled at me. " Hey (Y/N), ready to go?" You see we have been planning on running away. My parents wouldn't care because they died in a car wreck a couple of months prior. I live with my older brother and sister. They already knew I was planning this and they supported me. They even helped me get my stuff together. They knew how hard it was on me since it happened a month ago. I nodded my head opening my closet and grabbing the out fit I wanted. (pic above) I threw my back pack on the bed and went to mt bathroom. I put it on and adjusted my beanie to the way I liked it. I walked out and pulled the straps on my backpack. I grabbed a hoodie Adam gave me a few weeks ago. I grabbed my purse and wallet with a bunch of money I have been saving over the years. We climbed out of my window and down the plant fixture. (you know like the ones that hold roses on the wall. They look like sideways fences anyways) We went to his car. I put my bag in the trunk and walked around to the drivers side. "Can I drive? Please Adam" He nodded his head smiling. I laughed a bit as he tossed me his keys. I got in and started the engine. I pulled out of my drive way and drove down the road. Adam grabbed my phone and started playing on it. I rolled my eyes and turned up the radio. Drumming my fingers against the steering wheel as we drove to get Ross. We finally pull into his drive way. "I'll be back. Don't let my battery die Adam." He nodded and picked up a charging cable. I nodded and got out of the car. I went to his room and opened his window. We all keep our windows unlocked incase one of us is pissed off at one's family. We go to each others house to blow off steam. It's usually me and Jin. Anyways, I pull myself inside to find Ross already up. Bet Adam texted him from my phone. I smile at him. "Hey Narwhal! Ready to go?" He nodded and swung his back pack and laptop case across his body. "Can I use your bathroom real quick?" I ask. "Sure (Y/N). You know where it is. I'll be outside with Adam." I nod and go into his bathroom. I close the door and look into the mirror. I look into my own (E/C) (eye color) eyes. I look down to the ring on my right ring finger and smile a bit. A memory comes flashing before my eyes

2 months ago
I went downstairs to find a cake on the table. It was my 17th Birthday. I smile and walk onto the dinning room. I look around no one seems to be around. "Hello?" I ask just as the light comes on. "SURPRISE!" My entire family yelled. I screamed a bit. They laughed. We had a lot of fun dancing to the music my dad had playing on his phone. "Present time!" My mom said excitedly. My dad took a small box out of his pocket. "This is just a little something to remember me just in case something happens. All you have to do is look up at the night sky" I open the box and smile brightly it was a simple yet beautiful sapphire ring. I jumped up and hugged him. He smiles at me.
~End of flashback~
I felt a warm tear go down my face as the memory dissolves. I stuff my beanie into my back pocket and put (H/C) (hair color) in to a simple French braid down my back just to get it off my face. I straighten myself up and walk out of Ross' bathroom. I jumped out of his window and went to the car. I climbed into the drivers seat silently and backed out of the drive way. We drive down the road again. We decide to go get Barney next (not going to attempt his broken English. I'm using his normal accent lol) We drove for about an half hour. Adam decides to get Barney. I lay back against the seat humming along to the song with Ross asleep in the back his head against the window. I smile looking in the rearview mirror at him. I close my eyes until I hear the car doors opening and closing. I open my eyes and smile back at Barney. "Hey John!" He smiles back at me. "Hey (Y/N)! Let's go get Jin." I smile and back the car out and head towards Jin's house.

~Time Skip Because I'm super Tired~
We pull into Jin's drive way. I get out and walk to the back of his house and climb up a ladder he left for us to his window. I swing my legs into the room. Jin rolled over tiredly and sat up. "Sup (N/N) (nickname). I laugh a bit. As usual his black hair is over half of his face. "Nothing much Jinny ready to go?" He nods and goes and grabs his bags out of his closet. He hands a camera towards me. "I forgot to give that to you for your birthday" My eyes widen. "Really?" He nods "I remembered you telling me that you wanted to be a professional photographer. (It's what I really want to do. Sorry had to add it.) I smile. "Thank you so much!" I hug him tightly. He hugs me back. I point the camera towards us and snapped a quick picture of both of us. I look at the picture. I laugh because Jin did his usual bunny fingers on my head. "Come on everyone is waiting in the car" He laughs and goes to his window with me on his heels. I grab his purple and white jacket and put it over my shoulders and climb down. I run up behind Jin and put his jacket on his head. He laughed and put it on his arm. He pushed Barney into the middle seat and sat down. I slid in and stared the car closing the door. (Thoughts are italics) I can't believe we're actually doing this". I thought as we pulled away from the small town we all grew up in. Leaving behind our past as we drive further away. To where ever we end up.
