I saw from the slight vision that I had left the one who said they must go grab the other and then the two figures disappeared. I couldn't even see them run. I couldn't even hear the sound of leaves crunching, which should happen whenever there is movement in the forest.

And that was the last thing I saw as I slipped into a black unconsciousness.
I didn't know how long it had been. I didn't know what had happened in the time I was unconscious. Although I don't know if that's the correct term. Whatever happened was certainly more than unconsciousness. I don't know what happened to me. But something had. I was... different.
