"NIKKI, GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW"

My head pounded with lasts nights hangover as my mums beckoning resonated in my head. As I made my way down the stairs I couldn't help but wondering why she loves to make my very existence a misery.

"MUMmmy" I quickly corrected my tone as the last thing I needed was a lecture with my banging headache. I slowly walked towards the kitchen towards my mother.

"Morning gorgeous how are you" my mum asked. "Umm" I replied deeply confused, don't tell me she called me down here just to say hi I internally groaned. I ran the tap and got out some paracetamol before taking a seat on the kitchen stool. "Sooo" she started "me and your dad have decided to take a little break to get our heads together and figure out where we stand"

My parents have a.. complicated relationship. 9 months out of 12 they're fighting and just existing with eachother , the other 3 months they're on decent terms, so you can understand why this would be a shock.

"Umm" I said again. "Yes I know you're probably confused but, we actually talked the other day and I think I might be getting back the man I married after all these years if this works out."

I was happy for them, I genuinely was, but I've learnt to never get my hopes up with them. "Okay, that's, um, that's great, so I guess I'll be staying with Sarah or something?" "Um, actually no, we were thinking - "

"Mum I know you don't like sleepovers but it's better than staying with your sister who lives ages away, I do have exams coming up" I protested.

"Actually, no, we were thinking maybe it would be okay to leave you at home? Well you're 17 now, you're not a little kid anymore and next year it'll be off to uni, we think we can trust you to do this"

My mouth went slack, thinking of all the possibilities with a free house. Play it cool play it cool, I chanted in my head. "Urm, yeah I guess, yeah it would be a good insight into uni life" "Fantastic!" My mum beamed.

Five days later and my parents were gone and the house was empty. I had no idea what to do with myself, I had exactly a week to seize this opportunity.

So naturally, I called my best friend Sarah. Sarah's mum was beyond strict, she was never allowed to do anything with me and I became paranoid that it was because her mum didn't actually like me.

"What do you want" she answered. "Wow, how rude" I said back with a laugh, "anyways, my parents literally just left anddd maybe you can come mine?" I pleaded. "Nik, you know I 'd love to but - " "Yeah i know I know I was just trying my luck" I disappointedly answered.

"Alright I'll talk to you later Nik I have to go, yeah?" I rolled my eyes when I heard this, she didn't even spend five minutes on the phone with me. "Okay bye" I answered.

"Love yo-" I hung up before she finished her sentence and threw my phone across my bed.

Deflated I sat back against my wall and wondered what I did wrong to have no friends. "Might as well get a pizza or something" I mumbled to myself.

Half an hour later my doorbell rang and I leaped to open it. "Hi - wow" I looked up and piercing hazel eyes stared back at me. The most beautiful godlike figure stood in my front door, his skin was very tan, his hair dark and curly, his nose adorned with a simple piercing on it's right side, his lips full and inviting.

He beamed and a silver tooth stuck out and my insides squeezed. Suddenly I felt very conscious of my home clothes which included my booty shorts which were currently riding up my thighs and butt and my t-shirt ridden with stains.

Realising I had been staring I looked down embarrassed. He chuckled, ahh, even his voice was enough to get me to spread my legs. I mentally scolded myself for my inappropriate thoughts and handed my delivery boy a £20 note.  "Okaythanksbye" I rushed out quickly closing the door. As I cringed at my actions the doorbell rang again.

"Um you forgot to get the change" he said. Luckily with my skin colour, I couldn't blush, as if this could get anymore embarrassing. "Oh shit, thanks, bye." "See you later" he smiled down at me.

Later that night after finishing my pizza I dreamed of 101 scenarios featuring the pizza boy that would have a 0.5% chance of actually occurring. Yep that's how sad things were, I was really obsessing over someone I had seen once.

I sighed to myself for about the 50th time that night. I needed a boyfriend I thought to myself. It's not easy trying to get into a relationship when you are constantly the 'ugly friend'. Yep I considered myself to be that dragon that people always said cockblocked their pretty friend.

I impulsively texted Sarah the idea that popped in my head.

Me: Hey, what are you doing tomorrow ?

Sarah replied immediately
Chucha: What were you planning ?

Me: I was thinking we could maybe go to the mall, the weather is supposed to be nice tomorrow ?

Chucha: Oh God, we're back with this again. We both know the real reason you want to go but sure, I'll see you tomorrow.

With that I locked my phone and smiled to myself, Sarah knew me too well. She knew the only reason I was suddenly interested in visiting the mall is because I was hoping to ogle at the multiple boys who also visit there. Lucas in particular.

He was what you would describe as drool worthy. His eyes were a unique light shade of brown and his skin caramel and smooth, his hair was a curly mess that sat on top of his head, making him look cuter. All in all he was beautiful which justifies my stalkerish actions. If it makes things any better, I think he was interested in me too, although I cannot fathom why.

That night I lay awake in my bed, falling asleep with inappropriate thoughts about a particular delivery boy and not my usual dreams about Lucas.
