Journal Entry 3: August 17, 2016

I was walking along, full with my fish meal, when, in the distance, I saw something large, tall, and- metal?

Man-made!

I ran over to it, as fast as my legs would carry me. Gasping, I looked up- it was a radio antenna! One word sprang into my mind: Help.

Inside a tree, there was a hazard helmet. I climbed up the radio antenna ladder, and after a few rungs, I leaped inside the tree and grabbed it. I fell out of the tree, still grasping onto the hat. I put it on- safety measures. I walked along and I saw some wires and a paper to my right. I pick up the wires and confront the page.

"Gosh, another handbook page?!" I muttered to myself. But when I picked it up, it wasn't. It looked like a note. It read,

 It read,

Ha. But I think maybe I should make a battery- it could be the only way to get me out of this scrap hole. I go explore to my right.

I look up and- is that an airplane?! Looks like I'm not the only one who crashed here. But it's been here too long for anyone to have survived. I climb up the tree, the plane reading "Mews Airlines". I look down- I wish I hadn't. If I fell, I would fall into Tartarus, along with Percabeth. Walking along the roof of the aircraft, I look inside from the other side. A clipboard- and a RADIO! I rush to pick up both but when I attempt to grab the radio, the plane's back end falls onto a lower branch- and I tumble down, clutching onto the clipboard.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I scream. Luckily I make it out alive. But I can't get back into the plane.

"*beep* IT! *beep* it...*beep* this." I'm alone in the wild- I can say whatever I want.

Calming myself, I pull out the clipboard. It states that there was a passenger, and the airplane manifest. The cargo was some essentials, but what caught my eye was the little note on the bottom left corner:

"Who is MVB?" I wondered aloud. Nobody I know. I walk around to the right to see if I can see if he left stuff behind. Part of the airplane is stuck on the tree! I hop on the edge to unlodge the wing. It lands on a rock like a seesaw. I try to walk over in the water, but the propeller makes a super strong current I can't possibly fight. So I use my smarts. I stand on the part of the wing closer to where I came from, and I rapidly run from here to the other end and take a leap of faith to the land. I curl up, bracing to feel the frigid water gripping my skin- but I hit soft land! I stand up and I see a bag in a tree. Strange. I try to push the tree over, but it can only be done with a tool. I explore more. I look up- and there's a pocket knife! Now how to get up....I climb up a tree farther ahead. I grab a nail from inside more plane rubble. I jump to another tree and the pocket knife is lodged in a tree branch! I push it down, grabbing the knife.

"YESSSS!"

I go back to see if I can chop down the tree to get the bag. I equip my knife, and I yell, "Timber!" It falls against the plane wing, and I look inside. There's a paper that says that there's different coins in there- including copper for the battery! I rummage around inside, and I grab the penny. Let's see...I have the copper, the zinc, and I saw lemons over on the right- acid!

Examining it, there's a rope attached to the crate of lemons and a branch. I grab my knife and slice it- again. I stand on the branch so it'll go down- and I slice the rope, sending the lemons down to its doom. I grab one, and I feel a tingly sense of accomplishment.

"Gah I'm so dumb!" I still need to get the radio! I sprint all the way back to where I saw it. I see another branch barely hanging on- and it supports the front end! I slice it, and the front falls down, making it open for me to get the radio! I get it- but then the plane starts to fall into the ravine! It's almost vertical- so I hop on the back of the seats, and finally make it out, just as the plane falls down to its doom. I hop on the branches back to the tower. I'm gonna make it out!

***

I run to the bottom of the tower and start to assemble it. I stick the nail (zinc) and the penny (copper) into the lemon (acid). I take the black (negative) wire and wrap it around the nail, doing the same with the red (positive) wire attaching it to the penny. I flick the radio to transmit, and finally flick the power switch on. I take a deep breath...

It buzzes to life! Yes!

I work my way up the tower. I push a lever to lower some stairs, and I stumble up. I push the loose end of one of the supporting beams off, and screw the other one off, so it's a seesaw, like the wing. I use the same technique to jump up to the left one (If you're looking for a walkthrough just please try yourself I can't explain everything). As I get higher, the signal gets stronger.

Finally reaching the top, I use the radio. "Mayday! Mayday! I need rescue!"

"We read you. Stand by- we'll send you a chopper."

"Thank you so much! Who is this?"

"Myron Van Buren."

"Myron Van Buren...MVB?"

In the distance, I see a helicopter heading straight for me! I'm so excited- finally I'm not alone. But as I climb up the ladder, I can't help feeling as if I'm doing something wrong.
