"Okay sir I need you to calm down." I said with my hand on my handgun. This man was crazy, he was hyperventilating, he had an assault rifle cradled in his arms, he was twitching, shaking and crying. As tears hit the weapon he mumbled "I'm so sorry Katherine. I'm sorry." There was a corpse of a middle aged woman behind me with a bullet hole right between the eyes. This man had a lethal shot, I had to be careful. "Sir I'm going to have to take you in for questioning." I said cautiously. Suddenly his head spiked up in an almost creepy way, his eyes were wide and watery "They're gonna lock me up!" He yelled "Is her name Katherine?" I asked the man, trying to distract him. "Y-yes." He twitched. "What was she to you?" I asked, inching closer "My-my wife." He trembled. I knelt down to his level and his eyes followed me. I held down a button on my radio, "Base this is Alpha 220 approach carefully and slowly." I whispered. "These people will be nice to you." I said. I looked at the body of the dead woman then back at him "What happened to her?" I asked. That was when he snapped. He brought the rifle up to my head, I put my hands where he could see them and stayed still "Stop with the questions!" He screamed "O-okay." I stuttered. "As long as you don't shoot me." The man complied and lowered the rifle. "It's ready to fire." He said as he admired it. "What's your name?" I asked him, by now it seems like I have a death wish but I want to help him. "Jamie." He replied. "Can I call you Jamie?" I asked he looked up and held out his hand for me to shake I shook it as he nodded "I'm Kacey." I said. "Can I have a look at your weapon?" I asked, smiling slightly. He passed it to me and I immediately made it safe and stood up. "It's the best chance you have." I said "It's pretty cold, do you want to sit in my car?" I asked. He stood up and we walked to the car, him in front just incase he tried anything. He stayed in the car while I stood outside with the rifle. I opened the windows so I could hear him if he tried to hack anything. Another police car came in sight. It parked next to mine and my colleagues looked at the man in my car then at his weapon in my hands "How did you do that?" One of the officers asked. I smiled. "Must be my charm."
