He sat on the floor in the kitchen, leaning against the dishwasher, plugged in to the world of audio imagery. The music drown out all the pain he was feel at that moment, taking him off to a land where he could live a different life, if only for those three minutes and fifteen second.

He didn't notice his white cat walk up to him, it was breakfast time and she was all about schedules. It wasn't until she pawed at his leg that he realized what time it was. He gently smiled down at the cat and rose from that floor. She did a little happy dance as he stood and walked to the container that held the food. He still had his head phones in so he couldn't hear her meows of joy, but he could see she was talking up a storm.

"I know Stella, right on schedule, like always," he said mindlessly as he went through the motions of the rest of his schedule. First was to make himself some coffee and breakfast. After setting the coffee maker to extra strong, he went to the fridge and got out some eggs, cheese, and veggies.

He walked over to the spice rack and got out his favorite herbs and spices, then the frying pan and oil. His kitchen was an open concept kitchen with an island in the middle which he used as a table for eating. He cracked four eggs, added some cream that he had to fetch from the fridge, silently cursing as he always forgot to grab the cream. He decided to keep it out for the coffee.

He chopped up the veggies and after that was taken care of was when he started cooking. He seemed to enter into a different mode, focused, determined, and almost like he was electrified.

Stella sat on the counter watching him carefully, idly licking her paw to seem uninterested when he looked over at her. She slowly crept closer to him and then plopped her butt on the book he was reading from. He went to look at what to do next and was met with her seemingly smiling face.

"Stella, why must you always get in the way. I know you wanna help but," then he paused and noticed her tail was pointing at the window. He slowly looked up and saw a crow perched on his window sill, "looks like we have visitors Stella."

He walked over to the window that led to the fire escape and opened it up. The crow flew in and he called down without checking who it is, "Rinna, why are you even waiting down there like you need an invitation?"

"Because its the polite thing to do Voyna," Riina called up as they started to climb the stairs.

Voyna walked over to the counter and shooed Stella off the book. Her and the crow seemed to be playing around in the living room while Riina crawled through the window.

"Whatcha doing Voyna?" They questioned as they hopped up onto the island.

"Cooking breakfast for the two of us. The cards said that a guest would be showing up before coffee was finished and here you are," he smirked as he glanced over at them.

"What, no way," Riina said exaggeratedly, "I was just in the neighborhood and thought I would finally see the new place."

"That's the thing, you shouldn't have been able to see the new place if you hadn't already been here before. No wonder this loft was actually affordable, where did you put it?"

"Put what?" They asked with a cheeky grin.

"What ever you put in here that made it the ideal place for me to move into?" Voyna replied as he plated two omelets. He proceeded to pour two cups of coffee and served Rinna after shooing them off the island.
