I had been running for days, but I could sense that I was close. The wolf in me could sense the shifting of power under my paws upon crossing territory boarders.
Once I've cross the invisible line, I then felt it. The power that course through the land that had brought me to my knees in submission.
I thought this was a nomads land!
I could hear them before I saw them. The paws that dig under the dirt, the sound of running. As the ground vibrated, I whimpered and pushed myself upward. The force was so strong no ordinary wolf could've resist this power of authority. But I was an Alpha. I had enough strength in me to fight of the Alpha command in this territory.
Or so I thought.
As the sound of running paws grew louder, my ears perked up as I counted.
1, 2, 3.. South
4, 5, 6 , 7 East.
8, 9 ,10 West
11,12 North..I was scared as I quickly shifted and grab hold my bag. Changing into my worn out shirt and shuffling in my bag for the necklace my mother had given me. The Amulet was carved from moonstone, and it bore the mark of my pack, the mark of an Alpha. With my family crest,
It was a quarter moon, and a howling wolf with the words, Gamma. My father was no ordinary Alpha, he was once the Gamma of the King.
He had the token to prove it and he had given it to me as a going away present, it also ensured my safety from all Alpha's. The ring hanging with the leather string from the necklace was once the ring of the kings first army.
Made from the finest Iron in the lands. Only five were made, and they were all given to his loyal followers over twenty years ago.
As the footsteps approaching became louder I knelt on both feet, head down and one hand on my lap, while the other raising the necklace with an outstretched hand.
This was to show respect towards the pack that lived in the land, towards its leaders. It was also the sign of harmless visitation. I was trespassing their territory, I was showing them disrespect for visiting without notice.
Submission was the key.
Though I really had not known a pack occupied this area.
The footsteps were slowing down as all twelve wolves slowly crouched down low and took slow calculating steps closer to me.
I held my breathe, unmoving with my head down low. I waited.
The wolves encircled me, as the one in front of me shifted. His bones cracking and popping, I almost cringe at the sound. No matter how many times I heard it. The sound of shifting from others creeps me out.
"What is your business here Rogue. You are trespassing on our land?!" The man spoke. I blinked, but did not move as I answered almost hissing at the insult.
"I am no rogue. I am traveller. Daughter of Alpha Memphis the Third, Gamma of the Alpha King. I come baring the mark of the Blood Shadow Pack of the South, with the Crest of my father." I said it all in one firm voice, hiding my trembling fear away. I was an Alpha- I was a master of hiding emotions, we were creatures of high pride. I was not going to cower if I wanted to survive.
The man stalked in front of me as the wolves around me growled. He snatched the necklace from my offering hands. I could see his feet, barefoot and covered in dirt.
He hiss as he tossed the mark back to me. I grab it from the ground.
"Stand, Alpha Female. You are welcome to the Kingdom of the King.."
