Chapter Two
Ara’s POV
It is our morning break. I am very lucky to have four royalties here in our very own classroom. One, Chris Warren, the annoying bad boy.
Two, Georgia Cavanagh, the gorgeous bitch.
Three, Leera Madison, the richest kid in school.
And the last one…
Well, there’s only three of them in the room. Why did I say four? I must be daydreaming.
So, as I say, it is our morning break, and I see Jordan and Georgia flirting with each other. That cheater.
He left my best friend in tatters, and surely, he’s going to pay. And it’s not a petty price he’s paying.
“See, I am so much better than that Jamie. You made the right choice,” I hear Georgia say to Jordan.
“Yep, I know,” Jordan replies with a smile, and then they both kiss. It looks disgusting, Georgia sitting on Jordan’s desk French kissing him.
Shit, I have to do something. I am feeling somewhat angry, so I stand up and say something.
“Jordan, you cheater,” I say as I get near them. I got looks from everyone in the classroom, and it is dead silent.
Everyone stares at me like I’ve made a bad choice. I feel like it is.
“And what is your business, dork?” Georgia says as she stands up from her seat and gets into my face.
“Who are you calling a dork, slut?” I say, removing my ponytail, revealing long, dark hair. I blink at her, and she retracts.
“Ara, stop this, I…” Jordan says as he stands up and puts his hands in my shoulders. Of course, I shrug them off.
“You left Jamie heartbroken, plus you’ve got a royalty spinning in the palm of your hand. Or maybe it is the other way around. She got you spinning in her nail art?” I say as I look at Georgia harshly.
“It’s none of your business,” Georgia says as she grabs Jordan’s hand and turns back.
“You really know how to manipulate people don’t you?” I say.
Now I’ve got everybody’s attention.
“Brent, Kean, Danny. Other guys I couldn’t mention, because it’s going to take forever if I say the names of all of the guys you used. How could you do that?” I say.
“It is survival.”
What? Survival? What the hell does she mean, anyway?
“If you want to survive high school, learn the basics of survival of the fittest. Girls like you don’t have a chance to be a royal since you are weak and pathetic. And yeah, I used Jordan. So what?” Georgia says harshly.
I expected those words.
“What? I thought you loved me?” Jordan says with a hint of hurt in his voice.
“No, I just wanted you to make a remix for our cheer dance. Now you know. I don’t date guys for no reason,” she says arrogantly. “Thanks for doing it by the way.”
“What?” Jordan says.
“Stop it, Jordan,” I say. “She used you, just like how she used every guy she dated.”
Everybody is looking at us curiously to see how this ends, but Georgia ends it.
“It’s all none of your business! Look away!” she screams. In that instant, people rush to their seats.
“You’re going to regret this, Ara,” she threatens me.
Silence.
“No, I’m going to show you what it feels to be humiliated.”
