"Abby"

Abby is a little girl
For me to introduce
And so for me to do so properly
I must say that she is not so loose

Abby always looked both ways
She doubled knotted her laces tight
Her mothers back would be safe
For cracks made Abby feel not quite right

Abby had a bike she loved
With yellow ribbons on the side
One
Two
Three
She was out the door
Her blue eyes gleaming with pride

Abby never stepped out of her comfort
Or picked dare in truth or dare
So it was quite a surprise how
Something happened that was quite rare

Abby always was so careful
There she goes across the street
Oh! A red truck hurdles out of no where
And they just happen to meet

Abby never could predict
Of this horrible misfortune
All the neighbors came outside to see
Her small body with caution

Abby's fate seemed so unfit
For a sweet girl who handles things with care
For when the vehicle interjected
It seemed the only right thing to do was prayer

Maybe she was distracted by the clouds
Or maybe it was just one big mistake
Possibly things at home were a circus
I guess we'll never know because Abby will never wake
