Last chapter:
I like her. More than I thought I did. Well, I didn't think I did before, but looking back now, I think I do. I don't know, maybe I should just drop it. I'm leaving for LA in a couple of days anyway. There's no way anything could happen.
"Goodnight American," I whispered in the dark.

Ronica's POV:
I woke up this morning knowing that Jc would be moving back soon. So, I tried to dm him on twitter again.
hey! So I was wondering if you wanted to hang out |
I typed that out, but then deleted it. I think that if he wants to hang out, he'll ask. We'll just see what happens.
So with that on my mind, I did my usual morning routine and threw on some shorts, a tank top with a cardigan, and a black beanie. Like always, I headed over to Rimi's place.
"Yo Rimi!" I called out.
5 minutes later with no response:
Ugh where is that girl? I thought to myself.
Maybe I'll just go in.
I knocked on the white door, waiting for a response.
"Haha, hold on," I heard Rimi's voice from inside. I saw the door swing open and Jc sitting inside, drinking Starbucks tea.
"Umm Rimi? What happened to Starbucks? I thought WE were going to go?" I questioned her.
"Ronica, Jc texted me this morning really early and asked to hang. Sorry. We can hang out another time, right? Sorry boo!" That's all I heard from Rimi before hearing the door shut right in my face.
Umm what the heck is going on? I liked Jc, but from what I see, he obviously sees Rimi as a better option...which is not terrible or anything, but I know Rimi. And she doesn't just lock out her best friend for a guy we just freaking met yesterday! Even if he is a YouTube star or whatever. He's messing with my friendship and that's not okay. I'm so done right now.
Earlier in Jc's POV:
I texted Rimi this morning to hang out. Honestly, I just want to ask her about her opinion on if I should ask Ronica out. I realized I can't just keep hiding. I might as well do it. As cheesy as it is, you only live once. Might as well live to the fullest.
"Rimi!!" I shouted out to her.
"Hey, Jc!!"
"Hey, so I wanted to talk to you about something involving Ronica."
"Okay...haha. Why don't we just talk about it over some Starbucks. I woke up too early today, otherwise I'd go with Ronica."
So we made our way over to the Starbucks around the corner, ordered, and took the morning treats back to Rimi's place so we could talk.
"So, yeah, I might like her, but I have no idea if this is something I should tell her."
"You know what Jc, I think you should go all out. But you need to take it slow. She likes you though." She said as she took a sip of her coffee.
"That's my problem. I don't know if I even have enough time to take it slow! I'm going back to LA in a couple of days. And, how do you know she likes me??"
"A best friend just knows these things! And, why don't you ask her to come with you? I mean, she is 18 and even I think it's great for her to be able to get some independence."
It went silent for a while after that. I just let the idea of asking her to come with me sink in. "I...could ask her...but what would her family think?? I don't even know them. And I'm pretty sure if a random guy came up to me asking to take my daughter away, I wouldn't be okay with it."
"You have time, don't you?" Rimi answered. "Just get to know her family in the time you have. They're pretty open to new people!"
"Okay...ill try! haha, as long as I don't make a fool of myself!" Right then, we heard a knock on the door.
"Haha, hold on." Rimi continued as I took another sip of my tea. Just then, I sunk deep into my thoughts. Thinking about how life would be like if Ronica did come with me to L.A.; she would meet Connor, Ricky, Kian, his girlfriend, everyone!
While in the midst of my imagination, Rimi walked back saying, "Sorry. It was Ronica!"
I was confused. "Why didn't you let her in?"
"Because! I thought you wanted to talk about how you guys can be together!" She finished.
"Actually, I think I'm good Rimi! I think I have an pretty decent idea of how I'm going to do this," I said while finishing my drink and grabbing my penny board from against the wall, "I just need to...improvise." I said this by adding a smile. Now that I know Ronica actually likes me, I can handle this.
I said my goodbyes to Rimi, and headed to In n' Out Burger to chill and to text Ronica. It was already around lunch time, so I was pretty hungry anyway!
