Category: Platonic angst.
Originally I wasn't entirely sure whether this was fluff or angst, but I read over it after a night's sleep and I can confirm that it's more like an angst in my opinion, just with a slightly happier ending (I may or may not have started tearing up, but I think that's just me). Also, just because the title has a ship name, that doesn't mean it has to be romantic, okay?
WARNING: Censored curse words. Do I really have to put a warning for this?

"Look at it, Joshy! Look!"
An excited young blond ran through an empty field, his fist holding on tightly to the end of a piece of string. On the other end a light blue diamond was drifting through the air, fastened tightly to the string so it wouldn't fly off on its own.
"I can see it, Haz, I can see it!" the ten-year-old Josh exclaimed, watching his six-year-old friend sprint through the short-cut grass. He, too, had his own orange kite, which was currently sitting high in the sky, much higher than the blue one. Unlike his friend, Josh was standing relatively still, the wind keeping his kite in the air. He knew that Harry was just running for the sake of it.
Speaking of Harry - the blond was currently running happily with his eyes closed, unaware of what was coming; he thought that the whole place was just a field, and forgot that there were boundaries. So Josh wasn't surprised at the next thing he heard.
"JOSHY! HELP!" The older boy calmly walked over to where Harry was standing frustrated, reeling in the kite as he did so. The sight was something familiar - young Harry had gotten the kite stuck in the high branches of a tree where he couldn't reach it from the ground.
"I thought you could climb trees?" said Josh, looking up.
"I can, but the branches are too high," claimed Harry, reaching up a small hand to prove his point. Josh rolled his eyes at the playful behaviour, then started to scale the tree, leaving his kite on the floor.
"Feel lucky I'm tall enough." Needless to say, Harry squeezed Josh tighter than anybody else when he got back down, before hugging his precious blue diamond kite.

"Josh?" a small voice asked. "You wanna go out and do something?"
"Not now, Harry, I'm studying," answered the sixteen-year-old. He currently had a history textbook sitting in front of him, along with several sheets of notes and different coloured pens. "You know how important these tests are. Don't you have homework to do anyway?"
"Already finished it," Harry replied. "Yesterday. And you've been studying since and probably before I got here. Can't you take a break? I'm not visiting to do nothing."
"Last time I 'took a break' I completely forgot to study afterwards and failed the mock," Josh said. "And you come over all the time, Harry. Can't you play by yourself until I'm done?"
"I may come over all the time but you're studying all the time," Harry muttered bitterly, walking away. "And you'll never be done until I have to go." Hearing his words, Josh sighed as his younger friend walked out.
Two minutes later, Josh looked up and saw the twelve-year-old walking across his front lawn, holding a familiar blue object. Josh took one glance back at his revision notes before agreeing to himself that he'd done enough, remembering the previous conversation. And he knew fully well what he had to do.
