"Adrian, I think he's asleep," said Nolan.

Adrian stopped his narration. For a moment there was complete silence.

"Adrian, do you think Asher will be alright?" Nolan asked anxiously.

Adrian sighed before replying. "I don't know, Nolan. Like you said earlier, it looks like he has been tortured worse than Dominic. And his body is weaker because it is that of a twelve year old's."

"Oh. Do you think our brains might be effected as well as our bodies?"

"That may be the case. I have noticed that my thoughts have been more... innocent and a bit afraid. I also have to keep reminding myself that you are not actually a child."

Nolan smiled. "I suppose I have been acting more like one. Also the higher voice makes us seem younger. If your calculations are correct, I would have the voice and body of an eight year old."

"Yes, and Asher and I would be twelve, and Dominic would be eleven. It was a wise move on the part of the witch. We are not as strong in these bodies, and our judgement may be clouded by childish fear and irrationality. However, we are smaller and may be able to slip away without being noticed if we can escape these bonds."

"So that is our only option? Escape?"

"Right now it is the most reasonable one. As long as we are here, we are in the witch's power, and are almost helpless. If we escape, we'll be able to formulate a plan and execute it with a greater chance of the witch not knowing. And, if what the prince told me was true, I believe I am starting to form a plan of escape now."

"Really? How?"

Before Adrian could answer, a low groan was heard. Nolan looked at Dominic. The boy was moving his head and groaning.

"It's Dominic," Nolan informed Adrian. "Dominic!" he called. "Dominic, wake up!"

The groaning boy blearily lifted his head and grinned. "Ha. They didn't kill me, did they?"

"Not yet, anyway," Adrian muttered.

"You're optimistic as usual, Adrian," Dominic noted sarcastically.

"I'm glad to see that you're ears work," Adrian shot back.

Nolan sighed and rolled his eyes. Dominic and Adrian were not the best of friends. Dominic was joking and impulsive, and Adrian was serious and systematic. Unfortunately for Nolan and the prince, both were very sarcastic.

Just then, Dominic saw the prince drooping and bloody. He cursed.

"Ash got off worse than I did. Did the witch..."

"No, he's still alive, thankfully," finished Adrian. " And he has supplied some very useful information." He told Dominic what Asher had told him right before he had become unconscious.

Once Adrian had finished, Dominic nodded thoughtfully. "Good old Ash. Always carries through." Even as he said this, however, he glanced worriedly over at his friend.

Looking for a way to lighten his mood, Dominic peered over at Nolan. The younger boy was studying Asher carefully, making sure his prince was alright.

"Well, Nolan, you seem to have lost a few years," Dominic noted casually.

Nolan looked at himself. "Yes, according to Adrian, I am now eight years old."

"You are in the body of an eight year old, Nolan," corrected Adrian. "That does not mean you are an eight year old."

"Adrian! Don't be so technical with poor Nolan!" Dominic chided. "He's only eight years old, for goodness's sake!"
