MY SWEET JESUS

My sweet Jesus, the One who loved me first

You have seen me and known me at my worst

Yet You have chosen me and loved me best.

My sweet Jesus, the Savior of my life

You have laid down Your very own life

To save me from the eternal pit of fire.

My sweet Jesus, my best and truest friend

You have washed away all of my loneliness

And You’ve shown me I’m not really worthless.

My sweet Jesus, my safe and peaceful sanctuary

You have heard my silent cries from morn till night

And never failed to hold me in Your arms so tight.

My sweet Jesus, the sweet Lover of my soul

You have made me feel how to be loved for real

And with Your unfailing love You’ve drawn me near.

My Sweet Jesus, my Source of Light

You have taken me out of the darkness

And Your word of truth made me fearless.

My sweet Jesus, my Strength and Courage

You have always lifted up my head

And You’ve never let me be dismayed.

My sweet Jesus, my Everlasting Hope

With Your truth, You’ve opened up my eyes to see

And from the bondage of Satan, You’ve set me free.

My sweet Jesus, my gracious and faithful Lord

Your compassion and lovingkindness kept me coming back

And assured me that no one can snatch me from Your hand.
