The darkness loses control

Chapter 1

- A whole MONTH and NOTHING. I mean apart from the usual crimes or villains... - said Danny aloud while pacing in his lab

Danny was more than ready to fight against Dan once again, fearing the worst with such a warning from Clockwork. But when the first week was over and there was zero news about major destruction, he was worried sick. He decided to stay calm and keep an eye open for anything suspicious in the human realm and in the Ghost Zone. Nothing abnormal happened and after a month he decided to go straight to Clockwork for some help, Danny was even thinking of begging if necessary.

He quickly sends a note to the main computer to let the team know that he was going into the Ghost Zone and that none of them were allowed to even enter the lab. It only takes a minute for Cyborg to answer with an "okay and see ya later for movie night" and Danny took seconds to open the Portal and to disappear through it. The Portal close after 30 seconds and not a second later the doorbell sounds throughout the Tower.

Cyborg looked at the camera and knew that he had never seen that person in his life, but still felt like he knew them. He contacted the others except for Danny since it was just a stranger and not some criminal that they needed help with. Soon enough they were all standing in front of the door and Robin pulls it open.

- Who are you and what do you want?- said Robin barely containing a growl from escaping, he didn't understand it but he could feel that whoever this person was they were bad news

Back in the Ghost Zone, Danny was just landing on Clockwork's Tower and the door opens as if welcoming him, once again to its interior. Danny smiles as he thinks about it and enters the tower floating directly to the room where the screen to view time was situated. He was surprised that it was actually showing something, it was normally blank when Clockwork wasn't around. That was a clear sign that whatever was on the screen was important for Danny to know about...or it could be another prank of watching something disgusting.

Carefully, he moved closer to the screen and wasn't happy with what he saw. It was an image from the past that he rather forget about and so he decided to leave, but the screen changed to another scene that was in the present. He knew that the Universe hated him, but it wasn't until then that he understood just how much he was hated. Danny was about to go through the screen and appear there in a few seconds, but he was stopped in midair, literally.

- I was expecting you, Daniel.- said Clockwork with his normal and serious voice, receiving a glare from Danny since he was unable to do anything else- Ah, yes, but we both knew that.- the glare intensified and Clockwork decided to finally let Danny go

- Thank you for finally letting me go, Clockwork. Now, I need to go!- said Danny before being interrupted by the other words

- Daniel, everything is the way it's supposed to be...- said Clockwork and Danny stayed in silence for a moment until he found the words that he was looking for

- ...I trust you with everything I love, Clockwork. But I can't help worrying about it. Now, can I go home?- asked Danny with a defeated expression

- Yes, but remember to take your time...- said Clockwork while turning to the screen and hiding his small smile

- Yeah, I rem...ha ha, hilarious! - said Danny, while sticking his tongue out and starting to fly away - See ya soon, Stopwatch!

After Danny left there was silence only rhythmically interrupted by the sounds of different gears turning. It seems like the image of eternal peace or maybe it was just the calm before the storm...
